Great value for the price, very nice staff, great location in quiet place near the lake. Not far from the Ranua Zoo. A small cantin onsite, where you can get lunch or dinner and a glass of beer. The room was small and cosy, would be great to have conditioner but there was a little ventilator.

Bathroom has black mold. Room window was open when we first arrived so the smell sank in only after we closed it, which was luckily only a couple of minutes into our visit. Then we saw the situation, which was terrible. Also bathroom light switch was on the wall next to the shower head, and it would've gotten wet when showering.
Obviously, would not sleep in a room with mold -> trip to reception. Receptionist immediately was apologetic and acknowleged the mold, saying that it is an issue and repairs are due. We wanted a refund, but they had to call and ask the owner.
Owner arrived. In short: we had to pay for the first night, got the rest back in cash (no receipt) and after a long discussion their statement is: not mold but detergent stains/residue which just keeps coming back and back. Owner was extremely rude.

Beautiful setting and such warm hospitality! Cozy Igloos and delicious food at the restaurant. Inn keepers are very welcoming and helpful. Lupland Adventures on the property offers fabulous tours with same welcoming experience! Would love to come again!

Beautiful

We had a perfect, though short stay in the guesthouse. The room was comfortable and warm, the breakfast was tasty and hearty, WiFi was working fine. But the main thing was the LAKE !!! There are ski tracks for cross-country skiing just by the guesthouse, we just didn't have enough time to check if they circumnavigate the whole lake (which is quite big). And... there is fish under the thick ice!!! We spent a couple of lucky hours :D and had a nice picnic on the ice, thank you, Antti!
One more thing - the guesthouse stands in a mysterious place - you fall asleep as soon as you put your head down :)
I wish to come back in summer, then in winter, then again in summer and again in winter...

Place has a common toilet and shower in the hallway
Not value for money 
After requesting that I need a room with toilet and bath they moved me into a very small room 
Only good thing about the guest house is that the reception was good
Morning breakfast is same all 4 days no change has decreased in the items but same food

It is hard to express in words how special this trip was for me. I decided to do a solo trip but was only planning to stay at the Arctic Guesthouse & Igloos in Ranua for 3 nights. I was warmly welcomed and all the staff made it so easy for my decision to stay another 7 more days. They helped arrange husky riding right there on the property and two brothers helped arrange all my adventures from northern light hunting, snowmobiling, to ice fishing. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend staying here. I have a new Finnish family now. :)

Special Solo Trip  

Nice place with lovely scenery in a wooden ancient house, good size room for 4 people, although shared-toilet and shower, but it is not an important thing. Breakfast is included. We also booked husky sleigh, amazing experience! Thanks.

Wonderful!

It’s an experience to stay in an igloo, will be worth more if you will do some of the activities there like husky ride, snowmobile, etc. The igloo space is more suited for a couple than with a child. 

Igloo experience not to miss 

We slept one night in an igloo and we were very lucky to have seen the Aurora lights..they are something magical!
The igloo was fantastic! We also do husky ride and snowmobile and their also were very funny and amazing!
The staff were very welcoming and helpful.
I recommend this experience absolutely to everyone.

Fantastic experience!

we stayed 4 nights at this guesthouse including one night in the glass igloo. We really enjoyed our stay mostly.due to the activities all at your doorstep. The hotel was 1 hour bus ride from Rovaniemi and stop 10 mons walk to guesthouse. There really is nothing around. Check the bus timetable as there are  a few in the morning and then later in the afternoon so if you are travelling to the airport check the times!! The activities were great and the people running the activities we thoroughly enjoyed. The rooms in the guesthouse were a bit dated and very dull with bad lighting. The sauna was great and the glass igloo a wonderful experience. Everything is dear in Finland but we found this to be the most economical
