We stayed at Chalet de la Yodine for one night on our way to Val Thorens. Welcomed by Fanny and Benjamin, we were in 2 adjacent rooms both with balconies and beautiful views over to the 3 Valleys, good size, clean and simply furnished. Rooms weren’t en suite but there was a bathroom a few metres away on the corridor, again very clean and well kept. Dinner was traditional Alpine fare, very tasty and large portions! Wine was very good and our hosts very knowledgeable. Fanny also spoke fantastic English, much better than my French! We slept well and enjoyed the buffet breakfast in the morning before heading off. Would definitely recommend the chalet for families, it’s clean, friendly, good food and wine, great value for money and the views are incredible.

Welcoming and friendly

Stayed here for one night whilst taking a vehicle to courchevel , even though we were the only people in the chalet the lady that ran the place made us feel so welcome and proved us with a excellent breakfast the next day, very clean and tidy for a small place in a wonderful location with beautiful scenery.

Whilst travelling through France 

The location is amazing: on top of a mountain with a great view! The rooms are simple but clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and the dinner very nice as well. The only thing I would mention is that the hosts could smile a little more. Still we had a great stay. 

Nice place with great view

We have stayed here every year for the past 10 years and each time it has never failed to disappoint.  The welcome by the hosts, now Celine and Denis, is always extremely warm and inviting.  The food, all home cooked, is varied and delicious.  The rooms are just right with wonderful views.  There is nothing else really in the village which suits us perfectly.  I would wholeheartedly recommend this gite.

Perfect base for skiing

I reall enjoyed this place.The owners were very nice and helpful.The rooms were comfortable and clean and the food was delicious. The service they gave was wonderful.they had views to the mountains and it was very pretty.

Chalet de la Yodine was a very nice place to stay and I enjoy it a lot.

Am in 2 minds about this place. On the plus side: quiet location, stunning mountain views, clean (shared) bathrooms, functional rooms and nice (if simple) breakfast with home made yoghurt.
That said, for 80 euros per room per night I've had better, much better. When we arrived there was a man sitting in the breakfast room with his newspaper. He didn't look up, so I asked him if he knew where the owner was. Turned out it was him. Odd way of greeting new arrivals! When I told him I'd reserved a room, he grunted, went to the phone and told his wife to come down. She was friendly enough, and the owner seemed to have thawed a little by breakfast, but that is no way to greet your guests, in my humble opinion. Another downside was that it was quite a trek up a mountain when you arrive at night in the snow, lots of hairpin bends (and a fox & badger spotted!) and a feeling you are quite in the middle of nowhere. I fell for the distances a hotel website fed me - 8 km from Meribel supposedly, but this turned out to be as the crow flies - quite a different story when you have to get down mountain and up another. Took us more than an hour, and nearly wrecked my marriage ;-) My mistake, but I didn't want anyone else to fall for this.
All in all it wasn't bad, but not particularly good either.

OK for a quick stopover

We went to this place as a family. We were a lot of people and the hosts were very nice and patient with the kids they showed the kids some games so they could play after skiing. 
The food was very good. They prepared the breakfast early so we wouldn't have to wait.
They made sure  we got settled in the rooms and that there was enough space.The house was very close to the ski stations so we spent a lot of time skiing.The view was very beautiful during the day.We enjoyed the experience a lot.
