I found this hotel closed on July 6, 2023 despite the confirmation of the reservation! The neighborhood informed me that it was under construction for security compliance. After a significant loss of time, I was redirected to another hotel in the city.

The hotel's closed!

.Super hotel, nice welcome despite the work in progress. Service at the top. Well located in the centre, close to the bus to Musilac. Parking next to the hotel. Perfect for weekend stays or otherwise.

Friendly owners.  Characterful property a bit faded in places.  Very old school.  Location is *very* central - for both good (bars and restaurants and bakeries all nearby) and also ill (all night shouting from people leaving the casino) so be warned if using as a long distance travel stop.  Still glad we stopped in Aix-les-Bains at Hotel Savoy but would use a modern hotel to get some sleep next time.   

Negatives - the ground floor room by reception is small bad hot + windowless - a poor joke in summer - they should not really be selling this like for like alongside the other (much better) upstairs rooms (we booked and saw several for a party).  Most old building conversion hotels have a "ha-ha" room and the Savoy is no exception.  In the right room upstairs - out of peak season temperatures and night time noise it would be a good base for a trip to Aix-les-Bains if you like the "traditional" character of the place.

+: It was clean and very well situated -: The water room is two walls that were put on the vault in a corner of the room with the aim of forming a corner water room in a room that did not have the base, the problem is that the walls do not go up to the ceiling of the room, there are still 60 cm between the upper edge of the walls and the ceiling, as long as you tell you that you have no privacy next to the sounds and smells, in addition there was no room to hear in my room, broken by two other people who heard the glow (it is only a fine fiber jets) - in the chalet we have a small price after every neighbor's products, all the neighbor's facilities are broken at a huge price, because at lunchtime we think it was too grey - but we have to go to the kitchen, but we have to go to the bathroom, and obviously, we have to go to the bathroom, which is a very nice room to eat.

Very bad experience

I had a nice room with the toilet on the floor. Too bad but it was planned. But the hygiene level was bad, nothing to clean the glasses before use, the soap was a Marseille style soap. Nothing less hygienic than using the same soap as people we don't know. The room was cute with nice parquet, comfort of the bed ok, good TV. But next to the shower was tiny. With a big walk to get inside. More than two minutes for the water to get hot and the pressure almost non-existent, it was impossible to imagine washing your hair as long.

Well received but little effort to make

The hotel is very well situated, in the centre of Aix-les-Bains, close to the casino, the view is beautiful. Nevertheless the rooms are old: ceiling tapestry, old carpet on the floor, old-fashioned tapestry turned orange, little pressure in the shower and simple glazing. The bedding is good, the beds are comfortable and housekeeping is well done every day. The boss is friendly and supportive. The wifi room works but there are no taps, when we are three in a day with only two taps to charge our phones and tablets it becomes difficult... In conclusion this hotel has a lot of potential and would deserve some investment to be returned to taste.

Would it be worth the investment?

Unfortunately, once you enter the room, it's a disappointment: Back in the 1970s, with worn carpet and flower-painted paper... Even in the bathroom, with a vintage tile, a tiny, pressure-free shower and at random temperature as well as a neon that doesn't light up almost anything. What a shame, this hotel is really charming and deserves to have this awful carpet removed to make a floor appear... The view from the small balcony of the room gives views over the gardens at the Grand Certain, so that despite the lack of sleeping nights and the random temperature and a neon that doesn't light up almost anything.

Nice house but hotel not in line with the few photos seen on the Internet. 1950s decoration, old carpet, very old bathroom (no pressure in the sink and shower), unpleasant smell, worn mattress, lack of electrical socket, no elevator.

Disappointment

Yes its quiet, it's near the train station near the centre but in the room in the winter is freezing  brrrrrr ! The heating is on but in very low mode! 
The WiFi is working but very bad! The owner is nice hopefully that from nature and not for your money!

If you want to freeze than it's your place!

We stayed here for 2 nights right before Christmas. We were possibly the only guests, and were given a lovely suite with a balcony. The owners are some of the kindest people we've encountered in our travels.

Pluses:
1) Free wifi
2) Incredibly kind, helpful owners
3) Old-school, bygone-era style hotel that is so hard to find in Europe anymore
4) Rooms of varying size and shape, very unique
5) Excellent location on edge of Old Town, near casino
6) Clean, quiet, secure
7) Good value

Minuses:
1) If you are a chain hotel-type person, this is not for you.
2) Breakfast is not free
3) It's an old building, and not many outlets per room

Overall, highly recommend. Its character fits perfectly with Aix-le-Bain's bygone-era feel.
