Château de la Marronnière

Our time at Chateau de la Marronniere was unforgettable. We were there as a couple and even though we arrived hours early, we were welcomed with coffee and cookies and a ready room. Every room in the Chateau is charming, comfortable and clever. Before being a BnB, the Chateau was the owners’ family home and you feel that sense of happiness everywhere. Our room was very generous and the bathroom even more so. We awoke every morning to a ready breakfast in the dining room - croissants, fresh fresh baguettes, cheese, apricots, homemade jams and delicious coffee. Even eggs from the hens if we wished! The owners are lovely and very good at what they do. The grounds need a mention - they are extensive and beautiful. From the original moat, to a tennis court and a very large pool, to gardens filled with lavender and a vegetable garden and a playground for children, I did not want to leave. There are several other buildings on the property - one for weddings or events and another being developed. There are many comfortable corners available for sitting, reading or watching the wildlife - deer, bunnies, swallows, an owl - and not forgetting the hens in the coop and their sweet chateau dog, Noisette. If you are looking for a memorable escape, do not wait. I would return tomorrow if I could.
