Smack in the city centre, this beautiful and historic building feels warm and cosy.
Really pleasant staff (mother and son?) who did their best to speak some English as I did mine to speak some French.
Room was basic but clean and had everything I needed. Breakfast was extra on my tariff which I didn't need but it looked lovely when I called to the dining room for coffee.
Thoroughly recommend this little place - good price and very friendly.

In the shadows of the cathedral..a little gem!

Staff friendly and helpful. No frills. So convenient for restaurants like Le Papillon (very Good) and the local sights. Shame the owners do not spend money on improvements as there is such potential with good marketing. Good for people who like to include a little exercise if they are car owners. Parking at the bottom end of the Cathedral Car Park is free by the campervans.

Good for a 2** .

This place is hard to rank. There are good things like; It is very well situated in the middle of everything. Public parking is nearby (the hotel has 2-3 spots in a little garage if you're lucky). Free wifi if you can get it to work (we failed), a rather good breakfast for a reasonable price, rooms are clean, good bed and the staff is helpful. On the downside, it's an old building and there is some dirt in the corners. The stairs up to the rooms are both narrow and steep and the only form of AC is a fan, making the rooms quite hot. Also, no shower curtain in the bathtub with the result of a minor flooding in the bathroom. Also, be observant if you see that this is a Logis hotel - they don't have a restaurant and the one they cooperate with I wouldn't say is up to Logis standard as far as I've encountered before. The place has potential but needs some work to get everything in place. I'll probably pick another place next time in Albi.

Cosy but thats all

First the good things about the Logis Saint Clare hotel.  It is in an excellent location in the heart of the historic district of Albi, close to shops, restaurants and all off the sites.  In addition, the staff were very polite and courteous.  We are trying to learn French and did their best to help.  The dining room is pleasant and charming.  The sad part of it is that the hotel was not at all as it appears in the pictures.  The carpets leading up to the rooms were in bad need of replacing and the room, which WAS clean, was ‘a little worse for wear’.  The same could be said of the bathroom.  In all fairness, it is a 2 star hotel, which are of a specific standard.  However, we did not feel comfortable staying, paid for the room (despite not staying), and found a 3 star close by for a few Euros more.  I am not recommending that you do not book the Logis Saint Clare since the location and staff were great.  However, be aware that the pictures are slightly unrepresentative, at least of the areas and room we saw.

Not as advertized

We went to this hotel for a one night stop over on a trip around France. First issue was reception was closed - we had to call a number to find someone to let us in. We were taken to a family room at the top of some outside steps. The steps/ balcony and small outside table were covered in bird poo and feathers and were generally filthy. Stairs weren’t very safe for children. The room looked like it had not been used for some time. Although clean it was dusty, dark and dingy and very hot. We couldn’t face staying here with our two little ones and we checked out and found another hotel.
