The house is well described below but I'll repeat the things that impressed us the most. The house is gorgeous overall and well appointed (example: the polished wood stairs blew me away). It boasts a large and pleasant garden with a pool big enough for lap swimming. The  Manhattan Suite is a very large room with king bed and two single beds tucked into the corners, huge TV (easy to connect your phone, computer, or USB to watch movies), aircon, a big bathroom with double sinks, shower, and tub; and a detached toilet with another sink. It is up two flights of stairs--on the 2nd floor by French counting, the 3rd floor under the American and British system. It's true that there aren't windows, but there are four large skylights, all remote controlled for plenty of light. The other room, which we didn't see, is up one flight of stairs. It was great to have free, easy and secure parking in a large public lot across the street (we visited during a heat wave, so parked underground). 

M. and Mme. were warm, kind and generous with advice (both of the restaurants they suggested--Chez Oscar and Le Bruit en Cuisine--were winners). The included breakfast put on by Monsieur was an incredible spread of fruit, cheese, meat, pastries, etc. Very, very nice! 

To our minds this B&B represents great value with a good location just minutes from the center of the old town. We would not hesitate to book there again when we return to Albi.

One of our best B&B experiences ever!

4 nights in April checking out our daughter's new boyfriend (that went well!). Charming hosts. Perfect position, surprisingly quiet given the location. Parking opposite. Warm reception, comfortable and generously sized room and bathroom. Sensible late return arrangements. A perfect base from which to explore Albi and its surrounds. Has left us with a very warm memory and we have no hesitation in recommending. My schoolboy French is better than I'd thought which was helpful but not essential.

Flexible and generous

L'Embellie is a chamber d'hôte town house in the centre of Albi. Parking is across the street in a big public car park, free for guests.  We received a warm welcome by Elodie and husband. Ability to speak French is a bonus!  It is a beautiful town house.  Our "Manhattan" room was huge, very modern and comfortable. Elodie's husband provides the breakfast, which is the best breakfast we have had anywhere in France, and beautifully set out in a cosy private room.  Their garden and pool as a quiet oasis in the middle of town.  All amenities are a short walk away.  We would heartily recommend L'Embellie

Holiday visit with another couple

Not easy to spot from the road and we drove past it the first time. Parking outside to unload your luggage from the car was a bit tricky, incurring the wrath of the bendy-bus driver!
Once in we were escorted by Elodie to our room which turned out to be the Manhattan Suite which is up in the loft on the second floor, The room is very large and nicely decorated in a modern style. It has one large double bed plus 2 more smaller ones in two alcoves which can be curtained off. There is also a sofa and chairs and a very large flat screen TV. The bathroom is quite impressive with a good shower and separate tub. The only downside is the toilet room which is small with a low ceiling and a bit painful when you forget to duck in the middle of the night. The toilet also needs some ventilation as it can get a bit "niffy" if you get my drift.
Breakfast is very, very good, lots of variety and excellent quality. Elodie made us very welcome and gave us information on the local restaurants.
All in all an excellent 2 night stay and probably the best B&B we have stayed in.

Lovely B&B in the heart of Albi

Our rooms were very nice, spacious and quiet ,the owner of the house was very pleasant, breakfast was very good. The outside pool was inviting, the first morning, we had breakfast outside by the pool.

The rooms had no window only sky lights and were three floors up.
