A wonderful historic B & B experience in the heart of Albi! We had three rooms for our family for two nights and we were not disappointed! All three rooms were uniquely and beautifully decorated, clean, and well-appointed.  We especially loved the tower room overlooking the rooftops with a bird's eye view of the cathedral; when the church bells rang on Sunday morning it felt like we were in a real-life fairy tale! The delicious French-style continental breakfast each morning, featuring a variety of fresh fruits, yogurts, baguettes, croissants, and ample coffee, was enhanced by the gorgeous table setting, pleasant service, and conversation with our friendly and caring hostess. I would definitely recommend a stay at this enchanting guest house! 

Best view of the cathedral + walkable central location! 

We had a very pleasant stay at La Tour Sainte Cecile. The owner is extremely nice and the place is lovely.  Not only we recommend it but we strongly feel there is not a better option if you plan to stay in Albi. Best location, best price for what you get, delicious breakfast, amazing room, enchanted owner. What else !! No doubt 5 stars.

As we were driving towards Andorra from Lyon, I found the quaint little town of Albi and was intrigued by how beautiful it looked along the river and dwarfed by the huge Cathedral that towers over it. As soon as I came across this hotel, I knew that I had found the perfect place for us to stay.
Located in the heart of Albi and in a pedestrian only area, it was a little difficult to drive to and we became quite lost. Thankfully, I was able to contact our wonderful hostess, Maely who agreed to come out and drive with us in our car so she could show us where to park and then lead us back to her wonderful residence.
I had picked the Sainte-Cecile Suite, which was a huge room with a King-sized bed, a fantastic clawfoot bathtub, shower and packed with all kinds of wonderful antiques and period piece appointments.
It was such a nice quiet place to be and we freshened up and then went for a walk around town and ate at a local restaurant that Maely recommended.
There is a small elevator in the hotel for your baggage but you will have to go up some steps in several places but not too many.
Breakfast the next morning was really nice and we sat with Maely and chatted for at least an hour before we had to say goodbye and move along. I wish that we had stayed for at least another night because it was just so beautiful and peaceful. 
A fantastic stay with such an exceptional hostess! We hope to return one day soon!

Such A Beautiful Hotel, Quiet, Charming And With An Exceptional Hostess!!!

Just returned from an incredible stay at this boutique chambre d’hotes.

Very warm welcome, and well designed and tastefully decorated rooms.  You could not ask for a better location, and the views from the room in the tower were stunning.

Fantastic Location!

The opportunity to stay in a historic building in the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage Site will attract higher than average prices. Compared to many other establishments in Albi this Chambres d’Hote is certainly at the top end pricewise. We stayed 2 nights in the least expensive room at 160 euros a night, a price level we hoped would be justified by the facilities.

Our room was reasonably large and the bed itself was very comfortable. Minor points were; no shelves or drawers for clothes, a toilet door that did not have a proper catch and fairly standard toiletries (advertised as luxury). A major issue though was the obvious fact that the bathroom had not been cleaned after the previous occupant. This is in the middle of the Covid pandemic. Hairs in the sink, a half used shower bottle in the shower and an empty cigarette packet in the wastebin.

The owner apologised and next day the bathroom was cleaned but we did feel let down by the experience particularly as we expected more at the price we were paying. We also felt that the breakfast was in our experience fairly standard - we had our own Chambres d’Hote in France for 13 years and served a larger selection for half the price.

We hope the owner, who was delightful and very knowledgeable on the culture and history of the area , will take our comments as being an honest review.

Not quite as we had hoped.

Our room at La Tour Sainte Cecile was reached via a tiny spiral stairway in a mediaeval tower and while it has retained all the charm of that era, it was wonderfully comfortable, clean and well-appointed.  And the rooftop view of the spectacular Albi Cathedral was brilliant.
Even more delightful was our hostess who made us feel very much at home and very welcome.  Albi was amazing, La Tour Sainte Cecile was a perfect central location in stylish comfort but, it was our hostess who made a great experience into a lovely one.  Thank you.

A lovely surprise

This is an absolutely stunning place to stay. The medieval building is an amazing architectural treasure in the heart of the old city, complete with undercroft and spiral stone staircase housed in a tower, leading to stunning and sumptuous rooms and suites, oozing with period charm, but with a luxurious contemporary twist. We had the least luxurious room, and even that felt pretty opulent, with a very large and very comfortable bed.
The owner is a wonderful and charming lady and a great and engaging conversationalist with excellent English; provider of the best continental breakfast I’ve had in France; and a fountain of local knowledge and good advice for where to go and what to see in the area. Absolutely delightful in every way. Thank you. 
Albi itself is a marvellous and evocative place, rich in history and beautiful sights, not to mention a plethora of restaurants with great menus and gorgeous food. La Tour Sainte Cecile is a little tucked away, although just off one of the main streets through the old town, but I found the guest house extremely easy to locate with the simple aid of a Google map on my phone. Went straight there, no trouble. 
The only thing you need to know is to park (if driving) in the lower areas of the Cathedral car park, which are non-payant (unlike the expensive upper areas, and the other car parks) where you can park for free as long as you like, including overnight. It is literally a five minute walk, if that, from this car park to La Tour Sainte Cecile. 
Anyway, highly, highly recommended, whichever way you look at it.

Superb, superbe et magnifique

This absolute gem of a bed and breakfast have so much to go for. Incredibly well preserved old medieval building, great owner, fantastic rooms with view of cathedral. Home prepared bed and breakfast. You feel at home and special at the same time. Absolutely fantastic 

Incredible bed and breakfast 

If you’re not afraid of stairs and you appreciate an incredible view, this is a perfect choice.
The owner is very nice and the breakfast she prepare is more than ok.
The city is perfect for a 2-3 days visit; and the Gaillac wine region with the Braucol grape a nice surprise.

Perfect weekend

Elegant and comfortable room with breathtaking views. The gourmet breakfast had the best croissants in France! Large comfortable room with luxurious decor. Beautiful views, antiques abound and gracious hostess.
