The hotel is in a great location near the Chateau. It was very quiet during our stay. The room was basic but clean and comfortable.The owner doesn`t speak English but was very  friendly and helpful. Good value.

Clean and cosy

Is not a luxury hotel, it is perfect if you travel alone and want to spend one or two days in Amboise; the room was small, the bathroom perfect, everything very clean; the wifi: excellent I even had connection from outside the hotel. What I found a little annoying was so  few electrical outlet: it was summer so one was for the fan, other for the phone and no more, if you need to charge batteries or tablet or hair dryer, you are going to find a little problem. There is no elevator, but the staff was very nice and helped me with my luggage.

Good WI FI

Stopped here for one night with my sister to break our journey north to Ouistreham. We wanted to be central and didn't want to spend much so this small hotel fitted the bill. It's very conveniently located, just a stroll from the chateau, the river and the town centre. The  rooms are small but adequate for an overnight stop. We had a choice between two rooms at the front which were quite dark or one another at the back which was brightly lit through a skylight. We went for dark, preferring to have proper windows rather than just the skylight, but as we were only really there to sleep that didn't matter. The beds were very firm but we both slept well. The en suite shower rooms were also small but again adequate. The owner/manager/man who signed us in said if we were out late our room keys would open a small door on the street that had stairs leading straight up to the corridor where our rooms were located. We were back at about 9.30 - not exactly late - but already the main entrance was locked. I don't think there were many other people staying but this was a post-season Monday night. We didn't have the breakfast that was on offer as we wanted to go to a patisserie in town that we had already sussed out. All in all, given that neither of us wanted to spend much, it was a good choice but I don't think I would rush back!

Adequate for a stopover

Jean Marie is a lovely character and extremely helpful.  The rooms are clean, sufficient for a budget traveller. It is small. They provided new towels each day. We stayed 2 nights and it was quiet, comfortable and clean.  Breakfast is fantastic and reasonable priced.
 Coffee not so good. Location is awesome.  Free parking under the trees. 

Short stay in town centr

We only stayed one night. Owner was helpful and gave us advise on local restaurants. Room was basic and clean. The walls are thin and late arrives woke us. The blinds on the windows were great. Allowed us to ventilate room and keep the morning light out. The towels were of a good quality. We didn't stay for breakfast. The charge would have been €15 per couple
