Excellent reception, friendly and attentive staff. Magnificent view of Amboise Castle. Very clean, quiet and comfortable room. Great for those who cycle around the Loire and decide to stop in Amboise. Recommended.

Beautiful View and Careful Service

We had an amazing 3 day offsite retreat at the Villa Roma and it was perfect for our group. Kelly and Ana did a great job helping coordinate the meeting space and the overall experience was 10/10. The meeting rooms had everything we needed for a productive meeting, the food was good and the extra amenities  from bumper boats, to s’mores bonfires and the rest the grounds had to offer, we were set for success. 

I look forward to returning again in the near future for personal or our next business meeting and and am thankful to have this place on our radar. Would recommend.

A wonderful place for a corporate retreat

Very nice room with a view of the Amboise Castle, a pleasant breakfast, welcoming and very friendly staff.

Three good things

The setting of this restaurant is magnificent in front of the Amboise Castle Repas excellent whether it be pizzas or pasta as well as desserts. Smile and friendly staff. Bémol: 1 single toilet Plus: view and open kitchen

It's a beautiful frame.

The establishment is modest with no supporting structure, such as bed & breakfast. The few rooms are spacious, but the furniture and offices must be from the last century. The floors are rusty and the stairs barely fit the feet. The biggest restriction is related to access only during the operating hours of the restaurant which is on the ground or through a service gate at the bottom of the ground.

Just an inn.

Clean, as advertised rooms, helpful staff, perfectly located for exploring Amboise and biking the Loire Valley. A secure room for bikes is available. Wi-fi was advertised as available in a common area but was not able to connect and staff were not able to help re wi-fi so don't count on it being available. Overall rating would have been higher if not for the lack if wi fi.

Perfect location but could not get wi-fi.

You have to go through the pizzeria to get to the room. It's the waitresses who greet the guests and they don't seem very knowledgeable. The rooms are spacious but to get there you have to take a small old staircase especially to get to the room on the second floor. Very high risk of accident. If there is a fire in the kitchens, the guests die carbonised! No sign Some spiders in one of the rooms Well located opposite the castle climb but no parking space. Hard to park in summer.

Guest room which is actually an unsecured hotel room in the centre of Amboise

The location of the B&B in the center of Amboise is therefore TRES noisy, you do not open the windows, in addition it is above the owners' pizzeria, so as a bonus you have the smells. The suite room for 4 people has avoided, dark and unseen and expensive for the services! The double rooms are beautifully decorated and spacious. You are not like in a B&B, rather like in a hotel and still, the staff takes care of you between two services at their restaurant table... Breakfast is not served until 9am, no opportunity to negotiate or the time or the price if you do not receive it on the spot.

A Very Disappointing Experience to Avoid

The room is located above a restaurant in the centre of Amboise. Our room had a great view on the castle and being right in the middle of the town was definitely beneficial to our stay. Using the "B&B" naming might not be entirely on point but that didn't really bothered us. The rooms are located in a historical house and a lot of its charm has remained, however that does mean small staircases and squeaky floors. There is no parking around and breakfast is basic but decent. One remark though: there is no wifi in the rooms. We were said that we could only use the wifi in the common seating area (which was actually a sort of hallway used for restaurant staff), but we couldn't even detect the wifi network. Slightly disappointed by this though, these days it doesn't take that much effort to get a proper wifi connection working.

Decent place at a good location

This is above a restaurant directly opposite the chateau. There is no parking but if you are lucky you can park along the river which is only a couple of minutes away. There is a narrow winding staircase up to the rooms so it would not suit anyone infirm. I was worried it might be a bit noisy but I didn't find it so. Breakfast didn't start until 9am so it would not suit anyone wanting to make an early start, also the floorboards squeaked very loudly between the bedroom and shower room so a night-time visit might wake other occupants up!
