On the occasion of a small weekend in Arcachon and Cap Ferret, we discovered this old Arcachon house turned into a small hotel in the heart of the very beautiful winter town. The place is very pleasant and quiet next to the Mauresque park and 15 minutes' walk from the Thiers dam. The hotel itself is a little old (common parties and decorated room) but recalls the charm of the family pensions of my childhood. The person who hosted us is adorable. The room, with the balcony, was clean with a good mattress. There is no parking but we could easily park on the street. We do not have breakfast.

THREE things to be satisfied

This house, which has been converted into a hotel, is of no hotel interest. Everything is old, outdated without taste or aesthetics. The reception is very good but the positive points stop there. The bathroom is of another age, only a soap and a soap dispenser in the tiny shower are present. The toilet linen is worn and tired. The decoration is non-existent. Only the space and the bedding are correct. The lunch is reduced to a minimum (baguette, a croissant and an orange juice) is a small reception outside at the cool of the plastic garden tables. The whole room is 90 for the room, if not the smaller lunches. You need to arrive before 18h to get out of the house.

A hotel without stars

Despite the friendly reception, this hotel deserves no stars, our room (12) and bathroom were in their 1970s, no modern comfort and a tiny shower. The literature was correct but the toilet towels are no longer old... What about pillowcases that were not even the same color, unless it was a style effect that would have escaped us... As for lunch, traditional, you have to take it on the terrace (at 8am in September it's a little bit in temperature) or in the room where there's only one chair because there's no space dedicated to guests. You have to arrive at about 6pm to get to the city centre and unwind.

Hotel outdated, winter city

We decided to spend two days in the archaon pool at the beginning of August. We call it the marina hotel. The person who answers, already unpleasant, tells us that after 6 p.m. we can't get to the hotel and that no access code will be issued to us! When we leave our job at 7 p.m. it's a little complicated! We understand better why many hotels were full but not them. We think they should change jobs!

Change your job!

My companion and I spent two nights in this hotel with an archaic charm. The room is large enough for two, the bed is good and the place is clean. The breakfast is quite right. The reception is very pleasant, we are comfortable. The hotel's location in the winter city allows you to be 10 minutes' walk from the beach while being far enough from the centre to be calm. In short, we will return with great pleasure.

Here's what I think about 2 star hotels: you get what you pay for. They offer good value if the compromises are not over something you really care about. So, here's the scoop from my point of view: Marinette's decor and color scheme are atrocious. I can live with that. Location is fabulous, although uphill from Centre Ville, in the upscale Ville d'Hiver neighborhood surrounded by lovely Belle Epoch homes. Hotel is very clean. There are no public spaces except an open patio on which breakfast is served. Breakfast is nothing special, but adequate. So far so good. My only serious complaint is that I asked for a cup of hot water to make tea when we arrived after several hours on the road. The owner/manager (not sure which) told me that was not possible mid afternoon, and I should go down to the Centre Ville. I was tired and didn't fancy the 10 minutes uphill to return to the hotel after. I found this particularly ungracious since it was such a small thing and easy to provide. I even had my own tea bag in hand!  Deal breaker for me?  Well, maybe!

Get what you pay for?

We booked the room for Booking and arrived at 18:45 after a monumental jam of almost 2 hours from Bordeaux.On arrival we received a strong message saying that she had been calling us and that we were not protesting because she was leaving at 6pm and that we were left without a room despite having paid for it.The reality is that she called us at 17:15pm (if it is from 7am as she says, no wonder why she didn't manage the reservation earlier) and we were in the car and didn't hear the call.The truth is that we didn't read in the last line of Booking that placed the arrival limit, the place of the 20 that we are most often asked to place.

The site is basic but the reception girl is the worst.

It's only a 2 star and quite basic but it was comfortable enough, characterful, and very clean. The breakfast on the terrace was lovely and good value (most hotels grossly overprice their breakfast). The reception was very friendly and helpful. It's in a nice quiet housing area,10 minutes walk to the town centre and beach - not bad at all.

Very convenient and clean- good for a night or two.

The hotel is located in a residential area in the middle of a villa at the intersection of two streets. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon - there was no one at the reception and the hotel was closed. But after calling the room on the window, the hostess arrived 20 minutes later. This time we had a good time in the small garden of the hotel. The keys are from the number and the code from the front door. The room was very small even though we were with the baby, we had almost no suitcase to put up and the third floor was on a narrow staircase. But it almost didn't ruin the impression of rest, everything in the room was necessary, and our windows opened up a stunning view of the surroundings and beyond. The beach and the beach - but it's a long walk to the same night - it's a long walk to the beach, but it's a long walk to the same place.

It's a nice quiet place.

This hotel is located in a residential section of Arcachon and is within walking distance of the center of town.  Parking is on the street and is free.  The hotel is not modern but more of a period hotel.  Not to worry as it does provide all the comforts.  It was clean, comfortable and we had plenty of space for our bags.  As it is located in a residential section of town it was very quiet and the walk to town gave you the opportunity to view all the pretty homes in the area.  Also the person that checked us in was lovely and helpful.  Since we stayed on Sept 30th it was not warm enough to take advantage of the outdoor areas, which are lovely.
