What a delightful place to stay. Full of old world charm, wonderful hospitality, delicious and beautifully presented breakfast. Large comfortable bed and room with modern bathroom. Would definitely love to return one day.

Wonderful surprise

Big family 4 adults and 4 children stopped for a night on the way through France heading for home and the Tunnel. I only post 5 star experiences - there are plenty I don’t review - but this was one! A sumptuous, palatial house right near the centre of Arras. Around the corner from the Grand Place. Super efficient booking discussion, huge high ceilinged rooms with top quality bedding and mattresses. Private parking behind. A lovely warm welcome from Rodney who was a charming, genial and enthusiastic host. Thank you, Rodney pleasure to meet you. Tasty and huge breakfast with great coffee, homemade jams and pastries, cheese, meats, brioche etc etc.

Thank you La Corne D’Or for your splendid hospitality in Arras. We’ll be back. Well behaved children in tow!

Quick trip to Arras on way home

We had excellent communications and nearby restaurant recommendations before arriving.  Lovely room with very comfortable bed ( I wish there was a bed comfort rating in trip advisor) Superb breakfast in what felt like a private dining room. Will definitely return.

Fabulous hotel and host

We stayed in this beautiful 18th Century Merchant's House, just off the main square, a few days before Christmas in order to visit the markets in Arras. Although the Christmas Market was a little disappointing the accommodation was not. Rodney is a great host who makes you feel like you are staying as a guest/friend in his house rather than in a B & B. He has lots of useful advice on things to do and restaurants to visit and will happily make reservations for you if required. He appears to genuinely want to make sure your stay in Arras is as enjoyable as possible.The house was lucky to be one of the 25% of buildings not to be destroyed during the war so much of its original features remain intact. Although our room the Baroque was on the front of the house it was quiet enough not to be disturbed by the traffic and I am a light sleeper!
Private parking is available for guests at the back of the property and Rodney's quince and fig homemade jams are not to be missed at breakfast. Thank you Rodney you made our stay really special.

Hospitality Without Intrusion

Just fabulous! The host was so welcoming and we felt so at home. Attention to detail and perfectly genuine and attentive. My partner and I slept so well, the bed was so comfy. The breakfast was perfect.
