Friendly welcome by the owner who could speak pretty good English, was very enthusiastic and really looked after us during our stay.  We were given a beautiful large room which he said was the honeymoon suite, spotless clean, good shower, Sensio machine for making coffee, tea and hot chocolate.  The bed felt firm but was very comfortable, my husband and I both suffer bad backs but were absolutely fine in this bed.  Slept with the window open as quite a warm evening which overlooked a stream running by the side of the property and the lovely sound of it which lulled us to sleep …(either that or the really good wine we drank with our evening meal)!!!  The meal was a set menu which I think changed every day during the week. I assume he would have made something different if maybe you are vegetarian or allergic to certain things, maybe worth advising them on the request section when booking the room.  The meal was lovely, fresh ingredients, 3 courses, felt like you had gone to a friends house for a mea and it had been prepared with care.  He recommended a lovely wine and told us the price 15 euros which was a great price & a very good wine with our meal.  There is a lovely garden at the back were you can relax and have drinks on a nice sunny day.  They have a gorgeous, huge dog who is quite a softie. Breakfast, because of Covid, was eaten in our room.  Fresh orange juice, jams, butter, yogurt etc in the little mini fridge, croissant and bread. Would imagine that the parking was ample enough for each guest turning up with a car and the hotel being full.  Would definitely stay again if passing & would recomend.

Amazing

It’s quirky but a great find. Accommodation is generous and stylish. Mine host is helpful and engaging. We stayed over a weekend when the chef was away so did not eat here on the evenings but the breakfasts were good. There are good restaurants nearby.
There are lots of stairs and no lift, so be prepared to climb.

Great boutique hotel.

We booked this hotel for a wedding and were not disappointed. The rooms are huge, the landscape amazing and staff friendly. Only complaint would be breakfast. It was a bit sparse. Everything else made for a wonderful time in Artres!

Romantic Hotel in the French Countryside

We were in the area to visit Le Quesnoy which has an old WW1 association with our home country. Logis Hotel le Moulin d’Artres is a converted old watermill, ivy-clad and full of character. The owners offer a novel and reasonably priced “dinner bed & breakfast” concept for breaking the ice: guests meet in the drawing room for aperitifs, then join the hosts and family for dinner around one big table. There’s no stinting on food and wine, and before you know it everyone is relaxed and having a good time - even those (like us) whose knowledge of French is limited. Rooms are spacious, although higher-wattage light bulbs might brighten them up a bit. Ample off-road parking is available. This is an experience to remember.

Interesting  Concept

We visited for one night en route home from eastern France at the end of January. What an excellent experience. This old watermill was apparently derelict when purchased and turned into this execellent restaurant with rooms. Our room was huge and beautifully furnished. Apperitifs were served by le patron, Michel, to all the guests gathered around the fireplace in the seating area. This went on for sometime and eventually we and the other guests, which consisted mainly of businessmen with a local family who wished to experience this venue as it isapparently is of some note in the area. Dinner was served at a large communal table with copious wine and all well presented and excellent. Michel apparently has previously owned several restaurants in near by Vallenciennes. Definitely somewhere we can fully recommend and will probably revisit sometime in the summer to experience the gardens where I understand dinner is served when weather permits.
