My boyfriend and I have just returned from a 16 day trip travelling around Corsica by moto and E Cime was one of only two places we spontaneously decided to extend our stay from 1 to 2 nights. We really loved it here! The couple running it are warm and helpful, our room was spacious and clean with an amazing Mountain View from our balcony, the dinners were filling and wholesome and the breakfasts delicious - especially when eaten sitting in the morning sunshine on E Cime’s incredible terrace. The Asco Valley is a gorgeous place to spend time and the drive to Monte Cinto is 15 minutes from here (from where you can start the hardest of the 3 routes to climb it). The surrounding roads, river and mountains here are stunning for driving, swimming and hiking and you really feel ‘in nature’. I cannot imagine a better place to stay in this area. Best place to stay in the Asco Valley!

The entire building was supposed to have WIFI coverage.  But in our room no#3 the only place with coverage was the toilet seat, where we were sitting a lot from midnight onwards talking to our friends in  Australia.  So it's not surprising that we left a mobile right beside the toilet when we left the room.  When we came back 2 hours later after checking out, sure to collect it, we were told that no-one had seen it, despite no new guests having yet checked in.  So, it's quite clear, the wonderful air of Asco has enticed our mobile to take flight...  We only wonder who could have taught it to fly.

Located with stunning views, this is a great place in the small hamlet of Asco.  Rooms are pretty basic, nothing fancy, but it works!  The restaurant is good value, with charming owners helping you, even fighting through our rather pathetic attempts at speaking French.  I'd definitely stay there again.

Family-run place in a beautiful setting.

I cannot comment on the hotel facilities of the Auberge as I have never stayed overnight there but if they are anything like the food ...they must be superb! I've been eating at this place since it opened as I am fortunate enough to live in Corsica  and each time I go up to Asco I stop there.....I have to confess each time to having the agneau au lait grille au feu de bois ( flame grilled baby lamb) avec frites au romarin (chips with rosemary)....it is fantastic.......followed by the flan de chataigne...which will please anyone with a sweet tooth! Marie Jeanne and her team are always hospitable and welcoming - (I wish she would give me the recipe for the flan de chataigne but she won't!) .......and the views from the restaurant terrace are just superb.....very inexpensive...a ne pas loupe! Don't miss it if you are in Asco.

Not to be missed if you go to Asco!

Just returned from a week at E Cime and it lived upto all expectations and more.
Asco village and the surrounding area is just stunning - with mountain walks, beautiful scenery and a crystal clear river passing under the ancient Pont Genoise
As for E Cime, you couldn't find a more friendly place run by Daniel and Marie Jeanne, ably assisted by Alexandru who was always on hand when our (limited) French raised more laughs than understanding! (Also thanks to the parents of Alexandru who worked so effectively behinf the scenes)
The room was clean and comfortable and the food superb, just what was needed after a long day trekking through the local countryside, or attempting mountain walks (Monte Cinto) well beyond your capabilities!
Daniel is truly the 'Roi de Calzone' whilst the Civet de Sanglier prepared by Marie Jeanne was also superb - good honest local cooking at its best!
Next years visit is already booked!.

Incredible setting, great food and lovely people

After a drive in a narrow road with cows, a horse and a donkey you reach this place in the little village of Asco. Definitely worth the drive though!
The view from the hotel is marvellous and the sounds you hear from outside are of the river down in the valley and cows close by.
The owner couple do unfortunately not speak much English but they make the effort to at least try! The dinner was also a positive surprise - Daniel prescribed himself as the "Messi of the pizzas"and they did indeed look and taste good.

when you almost start to loose the faith...

The reason I am posting this is because our trip to this hotel was unexpectedly cancelled by the hotel. My husband and I were really disappointed to learn that our confirmation of the booking for 2 nights towards the end of May meant nothing as the hotel had apparently overbooked. I had booked through a very reputable intermediary who were quick to let us know of the hotel's mistake. The alternative suggested by the hotel was so not acceptable as none of the facilities that led to us choosing this hotel were available at the alternative. The intermediary couldn't have been more helpful in trying to sort us out with an alternative but as Corsica is so busy especially in the mountains. It seems we will need to rethink our plans and stay on the coast and drive in.
I want to let my fellow travellers know about this problem with this hotel as I understand that according to the web site another person from Germany had also "booked" a room the day after us despite our booking being the "last room". It is such a shame that this has happened as I was so looking forward to my stay. So glad we found out before we travelled as we could so easily have turned up at the hotel only to find that they didn't in fact have a room for us.
