This place was recommended to us by friends, otherwise we might never have known about it. We really enjoyed being in the countryside with lovely views. Our room in this cleverly converted farm building was spacious and well-appointed with tea-making facilities etc. Estelle & Philippe are charming hosts - nothing is too much trouble. The most remarkable thing by far about this place is the food. The dinner cooked by Philippe was very probably the best we have ever eaten anywhere, with well-chosen wines to complement the dishes. Breakfast was also amazing.

A beautiful country location and fabulous food

From Barcelona back to our home in Holland we stayed here for 1 night. Beautifully restored farm, spacious and well equipped rooms, tastefully decorated, very quiet surroundings. Middle of nowhere feeling but back to the highway quickly. The table d’hote and breakfast were amazing! Those in itself are worth the stay.  Philippe and Estelle are lovely, as is their cat Mignon :-) Only recommendation would be ac or a fan in the room. It gets hot out there... 

Fantastic stopover! 

Buvats is everything good about staying at a chambre d'hote. Charming but discreet hosts; quiet and spacious rooms; beautiful countryside; and unbelievable food cooked by former chef Phillipe, who has clearly retained his passion. It rivalled Michelin starred meals we ate elsewhere on our trip at a fraction of the cost. Breakfast was similarly good. Oh and there is an absurdly friendly cat called Mignon!

Michelin quality food, comfortable lodging, cool cat

If you are in the neighbourhood you could only go there to have a great dinner. Since the owners of this gites are serving a wonderful 3 course dinner including wines for only Euro 40,- pp. We had this experience 2 nights and the dinner was just superb. If you want this.. inform/call them the day before. But the stay is also very nice. Our room was 35m2 and very modern and quiet. There is a small pool outside. 10 minutes drive and you can do a fine kayak trip. The surrounding nature is magnificent. Vichy also not far away. We go back there if we want to make a stop on our way to e.g. Spain.

3 star cooking and great room

We chose the hotel because of the pool so the very high quality dinner was a welcome surprise. The owner ran a resturant before opening the Gite and you can tell. The food is locally sourced and you have it with the other guests in a lovely dining room. Pool is small but great for a family after a long drive.
