Totally enjoyed our stay here, just 10 minutes outside Luz Saint Saveur, and recommend it highly. This lovely small chambres d'hotes was comfortable, clean, and an oasis of calm.  Breakfast was delicious.  The owner Regine could not have been more helpful and kind.  She suggested destinations in the area for hiking--Cauterets and Gavarnie, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Also a dinner suggestion in Luz Saint Saveur was off the beaten path and really delicious. Although days were hot, it always cooled off at night in the mountains and the room was always comfortable for sleeping, helped by a fan.  

Lovely, calm oasis.  Clean, comfortable.  Wonderful stay.

This year I returned to this excellent bed and breakfast (chambres d'hotes) with my adult daughter, the main question being, is the room as comfortable for two as it has  been several times previously for me alone?  And it most certainly is! The beds are comfortable, the attached WC & shower are perfectly clean and servicable, and there are plenty of towels.  And, as I said in my previous review, the owner / operator of this marvelous place, Régine Arribet, is a first-class hostess. She is super warm and welcoming, and she lays out a large typical French breakfast, the bread is always fresh, and the assortment of jams etc. is lovely, the coffee delicious, and there's even some cheese for us who like cheese for breakfast (the French don't ordinarily like cheese or eggs in the morning ... which shows what THEY know). PLUS, Régine is deeply knowledgeable about the towns, trails and attractions of the Midi-Pyrénées and is always eager to consider our plans for the day and give us advice.  You want hidden gems of restaurants?  Ask Régine ... or, you can just step across the alley to the very good restaurant "Chez Rosette" .  The town of Sers is tiny; it clings to the side of the mountain and has a dynamite view of the surrounding mountains and the valley of the Bastan, including the village of Betpouey on the other side of the valley.  What a fabulous scene to wake up to each morning !!  And, although the room rate is a little higher this year, it is still very reasonable at 60 euros per night for one or two persons including breakfast. Bring along an infant, it'll be a little extra, but still a great rate.

Excellent for one ... excellent for two !

I've spent several hiking vacations at L'Arcouli, each one lasting 8 or 9 days, and always with great pleasure.  Regine is a wonderful host, vastly knowledgeable about the central Pyrenees, and generous with her advice.  You want a fine hike at the end of which you want to enjoy a fine restaurant hidden up a valley, ask Regine. The room is large and comfortable, and the view from the tiny village of Sers, perched there on the side of the mountain, is marvelous.  I'm returning to L'Arcouli this year with my daughter the professor, and I know it will be a super-good experience for both of us. .
