What a fantastic place to stay. You will get both brilliant friendly service and also fantastic food, assuming you eat here. Plus it is very very good value for money.

Nathalie & Philippe are always very keen to ensure their guests have a great time, and will offer whatever tips or advice is needed. They were very good in allowing us a eat a bit earlier than usual as we were often ready to eat after a good day on the slopes.
They can also offer great tips or suitable places to go, such as the outdoor heated Spa at Cauterets, or the Cique at Gavarnie.
We speak a little french, but they were both very good at explaining things in English when required.

The level of catering which comes from the kitchen is fantastic. For 18 Euros you get 4 amazing courses of Restaurant quality food. It was tasty, beautifully presented and varied as well. You wont find better by going out for sure. This is a good few steps above most food we have had from mid-range hotel set menus before.

The hotel is just at the lower edge of the village, but the place isnt big so its only 200m or so to the centre. If you are skiing here then you can get a skibus up to the main lifts at Tournaboup - this seems to run about every 30 minutes. When we came there was hardly any snow below 1800m so it was easier to drive the 5km up to Tournaboup, but there is the free bus if you dont have a car.
If you do have a car it is under 1hours drive from Lourdes airport, which is very convenient.

Also the hotel is only 2 star, so dont expect huge rooms and onsite spa etc. What you do get is nicely decorated and maintained rooms and welcome little extras like free tea & coffee, access to telescopes & lots of books, map & games as required.

We will definitely look to try and stay here again in the future.

Fantastic Hotel

We stopped here for 2 nights to see the Tour de France go up the Col de Tormalet . Run by a wonderful French couple, so friendly and helpful and great fun. Even picked us up from our campsite in Luz St Sauveur and took us back because of road closures and impossible parking due to the Tour. Lovely food, great room and a terrace to chill on.

French Pyrenees Barege

This is the sort of place that you dream of stumbling upon when travelling on holiday. The phrase ‘hidden gem’ is horribly over-used, but here it is absolutely the right phrase. You could be forgiven for driving straight past this place, thinking it was just another guest house; but Wow! It is SO much better than that! It is the wonderful hosts, Philippe and Natalie, that make it so special. Their service is faultless. Nothing was too much trouble, their advice was invaluable, and they took genuine care of all our needs. Our hiking experiences in the area were considerably more enjoyable because of their advice than they could have been otherwise – they truly made the holiday. Food was completely delicious, and great value; there is a first-class range of wines and beers on offer; and you may even get a demo of guitar-playing, or be offered a go on a very impressively large telescope – sadly, too cloudy to use the nights that we were there – but maybe that gives us a good excuse to return!

The room was a simple and clean with enough space to move round. The hotel is situated in an area where outdoor activities are a must, so you are unlikely to spend all day inside.
However the staff and food are really what sets this place apart. Breakfast is really amazing and you can't want for more. The dinner is simply out of this world. You would pay a lot more for such high quality cooking.
But the really special thing about this hotel was Nathalie and Phillipe's attention to detail, helping my wife when she twisted her ankle bushwalking and also catering to other needs. Their vast knowledge of the region assisted us in selecting daily activities, they lent us maps and they also have extensive reading material about the region.
There really isn't a reason to stay anywhere else.

One night stay. Very friendly staff, couldnt do enough for us. Great location, very helpful with local recommendations. Amazing breakfasts. Comfortable and clean rooms, free wifi. Would happily stay here again. Highly recommended!!

What a great place!

Staff very welcoming, they helped us carry our luggage to the room. We are on our motorbikes so it was just a stop over. The ride here was lovely and the Col de Tourmalet is only 10min ride away. Room is pleasant and clean, can't complain, but would only want to do a stop over as nothing else is in easy reach. If you are travelling through the area then I would recommend. We would stay here again if on our way through again in the future. 

Pleasant

This hotel may only have 1 star, but it shines brighter than any 5 star I've stayed in. The rooms are basic but comfortable and clean, the food is outstanding, bettered only by the hospitality shown by our hosts Phillipe & Nathalie. I had a great stay here and fantastic value too!!
