Lovely, clean, comfortable bed and breakfast just off the main shopping and restaurant street in Bayeux.  The breakfast included "baked that morning" croissants, homemade custards and other local specialties like camembert cheese.  Isabelle is a hospitable hostess.  Highly recommended.

Lovely experience at Dodo et Tartines

After calling them that we woyld be very late, they cancelled for no show, by an email which I received at 00:04 at the exact same moment I was at the door of the building. No one to be found. Phones not answered.

Me and my family were left out on the street.

The full amount for the 6 days was seen as no show fee (630 euros!!!)

The guys are criminals.

RUN, RUN, RUN... 

WARNING: RUN AWAY FROM THESE CRIMINALS

The privately run BnB is within walking distance of all Bayeux's attractions. The room on the first floor was top-notch. Separate shower with toilet. The Internet worked perfectly. On the room is a small folder with city plans, sights, restaurants and excursions in the area. The couple speaks English and gives great tips. The breakfast was great. From croissants to homemade crêpes and baguettes including honey, cheese, eggs, etc. everything is available. And even organic! A perfect stay in Bayeux. Small tip: if you've never seen a cathedral with full towers, visit these twenty-nine, even from the inside.

Well situated BnB to discover Bayeux and surroundings

Exceptional B&B.  Excellent location near cathedral and tapestry.  We had room on second floor with wifi but no TV.  Bathroom was just outside room but for the sole use of our bedroom.  Privacy was not a problem.  The room was offered with breakfast.  We stayed 5 days and  every morning the breakfast was fixed with pride by the hostess. She also provided advice on places to eat in Bayeux which we used and were never disappointed..

Outstanding Hostess

We spent five days in Normandy with our family and two teenagers who were a success. This place helped. We were welcomed and brought back to the train station. The breakfast was excellent and very cozy. (Bio) The little doll house we were staying in was charming, comfortable and very clean. In short, a great souvenir to start the school year well!

Without hesitation

We stayed at Dodo et Tartines for 4 nighst in September, the first night was in one of teh bedrooms in the house the next 3 in the selg contained Gite across the road. The rooms were clean and tidy with a few personal touches that made in that little bit unique. The beds were comfy and clean.

We took breakfast on the first morning and it was so good we booked for the remaing stay even though we had kitchen facilities in teh gite. Breakfast was an amzing choice of homemade and local foods and nothing was trouble, Isabelle was a great host with a sense of humour that made ours stay veryu enjoyable.
Location is just a few minutes walk from lots of restaurants and the main attractions in Bayeux. Parking is free on street a few minutes walk from teh property.

Great stay with great host

We stayed on the top floor at the end of some steep wooden stairs (not suitable for heavy suitcases).
This floor had a room with a double (sofa) bed (and a fridge), off of which a door to the larger room with a single bed and double bed. 
A bathroom with two doors allowed access from both rooms, meaning our teenage daughter could have some privacy in her own space.
The rooms were furnished with lots of trinkets and personal items. There were books everywhere - if I could read French, I wouldn't have left the room! 
There were boxes of toys/lego for my 5yr old daughter to play with - and she did every day. There were lots of fluffy toys to keep her company in bed as well.
It felt like staying in a friends house rather than a 'b&b/hotel'.

On the middle floor was a large room with a double bed and a bathroom across the hallway.

Breakfast was lovely every day, and typically French: Croissants every day along with a homemade item such as yoghurt and a little muffin or 'rice pudding'. Plenty of fruit, bread, home made jams. Your preferred tea/coffee was always served.

The B&B is very conveniently located near the Bayeux Museum with the tapestry and the main street with restaurants/shops. We didn't find the road outside noisy.

We pre-arranged when were going to check in (around 5.00) and upon arrival no-one answered the door. After ringing her number, the owner bounded out of the property opposite checking in some guests there. First impressions were very good and we got along very nicely and it was always nice to chat.

My only criticisms are:
The rooms weren't really 'refreshed' during our 5 night stay. It would have been nice to return to our rooms with the bins emptied, or the tea/coffee/milk added to or perhaps the bedding given a shake. But I respect that the owner didn't necessarily want to interfere with our stay there and just 'leave us to it' - but still: those touches would have made it top notch.
Nevertheless, I'm still happy to give the place 5/5.

A delightful B&B, typically French

The owners were very nice and spoke some English. The suite we stayed in was on the top floor so a little hike to get to the top. We had a sitting room and a large bedroom. I would suggest they declutter and keep the rooms simple. The towels were obviously line dried which is common in Europe but they were really hard on the skin. The bad was warm, far from being hot. The breakfast was very nice but we were caught off guard in that B&Bs in France do not take credit cards. No fault of the owner but I had to run to the ATM to get money. We had breakfast at 7:30 so we could take a tour and I got the feeling that the owners did not really want to serve breakfast that early. We loved the city and Bayeux Shuttle tours are the best but I would rather not stay at someone's house, smell their dinner cooking and have more privacy.

Great location but realize I prefer a hotel where we can come and go and have our own privacy.

Stayed with another couple, although arrived at 17.45 were not able to access property until 19.45 as owners not there. They did let us know in advance but having left home at 07.30 we were not happy. 

Rooms were clean but very cluttered and beds were too small, only a standard double. There was never enough hot water for showers/baths which we said on first morning.  Also no locks on doors which we found strange.  Only 1 bottle of water provided for a 4 night stay, although told not to use tap water in kettle.  No servicing of rooms during stay resulting in overflowing rubbish bins and no change of towels.  No milk for tea and coffee although to be fair we didn't ask.

Breakfast was ok although not what we are used to but we accept that this is normal in France and we certainly did not expect a full English but would have liked a little more choice. One day one of us asked for some bread and were told that they didn't have any as they did not eat bread, apparently we hadn't eaten more than a slice or two on previous days! 

The location was convenient for restaurants and visits to the various beaches, museums etc which was the purpose of the visit.  However, we were only able to park in the road on one night and found that we were woken up during the night and very early in the morning from traffic.  Not a problem for some maybe. 

Would love to visit Bayeaux again sometime but would not stay here.

Noisy road although location convenient

A family member is gluten free at this B&B, so the 4 pieces of warm GF bread, homemade yogurt, banana custard, mounds of fresh fruit, fried egg, homemade preserves, and hot tea/coffee were a real treat for a celiac in France. The charming, "local" French feel made our stay perfect. We could easily walk to the La Pommier Restaurant for gluten free dinner (25 euro for 3 course meal) and Bayeux itself has become one of our favorite little European towns. We stayed three nights here and used it as a hub for Caen,  Normandy Beaches, and Mont St Michele and St Malo. The place was exceptionally clean and parking was not an issue. Isabella and Henri were great hosts. We would definitely return here.
