A good location for our visit to the Normandy sites. The room was larger that we expected, clean and airy. Pascal is a wonderful host who helped us with restaurant recommendations, made dinner reservations for us (we only speak English) and even gave us a recommendation for a restaurant in Amboise. I will definitely stay here again the next time we are in Normandy.

Excellent B&B in Bayeux

HIDDEN GEM!!!!  Spectacular and immaculate bed and breakfast.  Pascal is an amazing host!  Breakfast every morning was homemade and delicious.  Especially loved the quiche and apple cake.  Property is immaculate.  Most appreciated the beautiful outdoor patio to sit and relax with family.  PERFECT location very close to center of town but on the side of a. Beautiful quiet park.  Close to shopping, the cathedral and restaurants.  We were there in July and saw the beautiful light spectacular at the cathedral  which is played to beautiful music.  Also visited the outdoor market with local crafts people.  Amazing little town!!!  And a great base for exploring the Normandy Beaches.

Most Amazing Bed and Breakfast in a perfect little town

We stayed here April 2023 for four nights in the ‘By the Sea’ room and had an incredible stay.  

Here are our observations/experiences that also factor items such as:  what we knew prior to booking (type and cost of lodging), historical variables, total value for the money and comparisons with similar experiences – we greatly appreciate travelers who have provided reviews for our vacation planning and hope this info helps you too 😊:

THE GOOD STUFF:
•	Hotel owner (Pascal) accommodating, friendly and helpful.  Pascal helped us carry suitcases upstairs.   
•	Gorgeous décor, every piece was selected to fit the historical nature of the 18th century building
•	Surrounding yard/gardens beautiful
•	Quiet location
•	WiFi worked very well
•	Comfortable and spacious room (we stayed in ‘By the Sea’ room), bed, pillows; There is a room with shelves and luggage space between the bedroom and bathroom.  
•	Room had windows facing in three directions, windows opened, sunrise gorgeous
•	Two luggage racks, lots of storage space
•	USB port on lamp stand on both sides of bed
•	Great breakfast, elegant spread, table was set with foods and dishes; including:  baguettes, croissants, jams, granola, fresh orange juice, coffee/tea, fresh cheese, homemade quiche (two mornings, second time made at my request), homemade rhubarb jam and apple tart was really special; chocolate brownie cake, fresh pineapple with passion fruit, rice pudding
•	Breakfast is served in two rooms – one large dining room (long table), breakfast room with a round table – gives privacy and yet intimacy to the settings
•	Chicago (Pascal’s kitty) and Pacquito (Pascal’s dog) were welcome additions to our stay
•	Toiletries provided:  Tissues, shampoo, soap, conditioner
•	House had a bowl of candy (including chocolate) by front door to greet guests as we returned from the day’s adventures
AWARENESS STUFF:  
•	No elevator – we knew this before we booked this historical location.  Only one flight of steps up to room.
•	Parking (free) is limited to in front of hotel or surrounding streets.  Sometimes we had to circle a few times to get a nearby spot.  
•	No hot water kettle
•	Rather high step up/down into tub (no separate shower) 
NEEDS ACTION:  
•	Nothing!!! 😊


Wonderful hotel in historic section, owner (Pascal) is friendly, gracious + helpful, excellent breakfast

My husband and I had a 4 night stay in the beautiful Le Petit Matin in Bayeux recently.  The house is located across the street from a beautiful and peaceful park and has a lovely back yard with a patio.  Pascal was the perfect host who provided information about restaurants and sites to visit in Bayeux.  The breakfasts were most delicious each day and fueled us well for our busy days of sight seeing.  We stayed in the grey room which was large, well appointed and comfortable with a good sized bathroom.  It was very quiet in the area so we were able to open our windows at night and only heard a few passing cars.  The cool night air certainly aided my sleep.
The location was perfect with just a few minutes walk to the Cathedral, restaurants and shops in the area, as well as the Tapestry.  Easy walking everywhere!  The parking is free and on the street…we never had a problem finding a parking place.
We hated to leave this tranquil and beautiful home and would return in a heart-beat.  We highly recommend this beautiful B and B if you are in the area!

A beautiful experience in Bayeux 

Pascal is a very gracious host who provides an elegant experience for weary travellers. Le Petit Matin is simply a wonderful, stylish comfortable place to stay. Pascal has a deft touch with his breakfast offerings, and the guests are encouraged to mingle and enjoy the surroundings.  Do not be afraid to ask for recommendations for places to dine in Bayeux, we were provided with some superb suggestions all within a walking distance. Would we return to Le Petit Matin? In a heartbeat.

A superb, comfortable, elegant venue.

Spectacular!! We rolled the dice and decided to stay at a B&B and so glad we did!  Beautiful home and large, cozy, inviting rooms.  Pascal is a superb host.  The breakfast was delicious.   Best croissants we had!  He always had a delicious fresh baked bread or cake as well. The location was about 15 minutes walk to train and 5 min to city center so it was easy to get around.  I would recommend 1000x over, you can't go wrong!

You must stays here!

I cannot rate this property highly enough. A boutique B&B with character and charm. The rooms are beautiful, lovely views out the windows. Very generous sized. Breakfast was delicious - served in a dining room - croissants, fresh bread and jams, fresh baked goods from the host, yoghurt, coffee/tea/juice. Location is fantastic - walking distance to centre of Bayeux, the cathedral and restaurants and shops. Our host Pascal was very helpful. Would love to stay here again.

Perfect property to stay in

The rooms were large and well furnished. Pascal was the perfect host.  He served breakfast every morning with croissants, homemade jams, fruit, cheese and bread that could be toasted.  He also served something original each day of his creation between coffee cakes and quiche.  There is no air conditioning but with the windows open there was a cooling breeze at night.  There was a back garden with chairs and tables and a view of flowers and garden vegetables.  I would definitely stay here again.    

Bayeux family stay 5 adults 3 rooms

Beautiful house, we had a huge well appointed and comfortable room. We enjoyed a good breakfast in the company of other guests which was really enjoyable to chat. Plentiful free street parking and a lovely quiet square but really convenient to walk to   the sights of Bayeux. Our host was very helpful and gave good advice before our arrival on restaurants and the need to book.

What a gem!

We stayed in  Pascal’s beautiful home for 4 nights during our trip to Normandy. His house was lovely, located on a quiet street and within walking distance to a lot of places. It was perfect! The rooms were large and comfortable as well. Pascal was an excellent host, very friendly! His breakfasts were delicious and he gave us great recommendations for restaurants and areas of interest to see. He even made a reservation for us the first night because I was unsure of how well I would be able to communicate, my French isn’t that great. Luckily most places spoke enough English so we were able to make reservations ourselves for the remaining nights. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Bayeux or the Normandy area. Thank you Pascal!
