I ended up in Beauvais after picking the wrong airport into Paris. After the initial panic left I decided to make the most of it, googled where I was and saw there was some magnificent gothic architecture to be seen. Including an absolutely stunning cathedral. I took a taxi to the centre of town and walked into Victor Hotel (which is five minute walk from said cathedral) Things to note right away, they have six floors and no elevator which doesn't bother me. They do not speak English (except one server I found in the morning) but the woman helped me by using Google translate. She also does the housekeeping, they don't have a large staff, so she walks with huge bedding bags up and down the stairs all day, so no she isn't going to help you with your bags and I don't blame her. They were also kindly enough to let me into a room at 11am when I showed up (looking frazzled and exhausted I'm sure) check out was 10am just to advise as I wasn't aware and assumed 11. Again they let me do what I needed to without rushing me out. The room is bare bones but the location is excellent. I chose the 69€ room and got a lovely courtyard view with it. Now this is an older building with thinner walls and creaking floors, so if you're a light sleeper or used to staying at the Hilton this is not the place for you. If you are a traveller who has done everything from 5* to shared hostel mixed dorms then this will fit the bill just fine! Pop in your earplugs and enjoy your own space close to everything you need. I would recommend this for a night to a few nights as I think this town is worth some time exploring. I would return.

Day rest and freshen up

There’s little to be said about this hotel except that the surly and unpleasant owner is extremely lucky to have a decent chef and a couple of nice waiters, in particular one young lady, who give the place a tiny heart. Otherwise it’s pretty disgusting: the kind of place councils in England put problem families. I stayed in Hotel de la Cathedrale last time, which was marginally better and I’m certain the Mercure would be better still but whatever you do, if you’re reading this, do yourself a favour and don’t stay here. Perhaps go for a meal and meet the long-suffering staff... the food is really not bad at all!

Disgrace

The room was basic, the water pressure in the shower was virtually non existent. The breakfast was basic also, a croissant and some bread. The food in the restaurant was however very good. The server was good, she tried her best to understand us and also spoke some English 

Disappointed 

I knew about the stairs that needed to be climbed but hotels need computers.  Travelers require the use of printers to print their boarding passes.  This hotel's location was great, in the middle of the town square.  It has enormous possibilities but has to improve a great deal in it's service to their clients.

No computer.  No elevator.

If you need a place where to stop for a night and are not looking for luxury, this might be the right solution: rooms are very basic but clean, staff are friendly and food at the brasserie is nice. Located in the very centre of the town, some of the rooms overlook the main square. It is also a good solution if you need to travel from Tillé Airport early in the morning, as it is very close to the start of the bus line number 6, which allows you to reach the airport in 20 minutes (be careful, though, the first run is at 7:00 a.m., not at 6:30 as most local people think).

Basic but good value for money

Nice place to stop and sit and watch the activity and fountain in the square. Flys are a bit annoying however. Wine was good value. Did not stay in the hotel itself. Indoor and outdoor seating. There are other choices close by.

Stayed here one night on a cycling trip from London to Paris. We only stayed here because other hotels were full.The staff were not able to provide any useful information, for example not  being able to recommend a restaurant or cycle repaire shop.
