A rather belated review that I should have written last May! We were hoping to go again this year but not sure if we will be able to now :( We stayed in the delightful Garden Room again and were warmly welcomed by Dominique and Jean Renaud. Wonderful breakfasts as always. We love the quiet peacefulness of Blere and yet again managed to find different places to visit. We never run out of things to do. Dominique gives excellent advice, as she takes the trouble to visit many places herself and so has a wide knowledge.

Another delightful stay

When I think of France and places to stay this was one of my favorites. If you are looking for a large hotel don't stay here. But if you are looking for the picturesque, quaint bed and breakfast that represents a true French experience you must stay here. The house is spacious and the owners are gracious. Our room was wonderful, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was large. The shower was great (not something I can say for other places in France). The water was hot and there was enough room to enjoy the shower. The owners, Dominique and Jean Reneau were incredibly hospitable. We even shared dinner out on our last night. Dominique makes delicious home made yogurt which we had with breakfast every morning, along with fresh fruits, breads, cheese (of course) and some other tasty fare. They are both charming and hospitable and if we needed anything they were there for us. The house itself is a historical landmark and when you look around the bottom floor you can see why. It has unique architecture and a wonderful French flare. While there are so many places to choose to stay this one is truly a gem.

MUST STAY

My husband and I just spent two nights at Le Belvedere in Blere. The owners are very kind, welcoming and accommodating and will go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. We stayed in a room with a king sized bed, which is fairly difficult to find in France. Our room was also unique because it had direct street access which made going out to tour the town and looking for dinner very convenient. 
The property is quaint and is set up with many outdoor and indoor areas where guests can sit down and relax. 
The property is also very conveniently located for guests such as us who are in the area to tour local castles. My husband and I spent our first day touring the chateau in Amboise and Clos Luce and the second day touring Chenanceau and Chambord. The first 3 were within 15 minutes and a very easy drive. Chambord was a bit further, but still reasonable.
The owners speak English and went so far as to invite us to watch the final game of the European soccer cup 2016 with them!Finally, as mentioned in many previous reviews, the breakfast served daily is very traditionally French, but also copious, fresh and delicious!
We would gladly return to visit Le Belvedere and will be referring friends!


Quaint B&B

This B&B worked well for us. It is a historic house, especially the faux marble staircase. The rooms were spacious, clean, and historically charming. The secure parking was a welcome addition. Breakfast in the morning was ample. There are nice restaurants and ATMs in the next street. I would recommend this B&B to aficionados of historic homes that are going to appreciate and respect the home. But if you have children that could be a bit rowdy or if you are traveling with "drunk uncle" (from Saturday Night Live) who would put his feet on the furniture, this is probably not the place for you.

Historic House

Our four-night stay at Le Belvedere was a friendly and comfortable introduction to our holiday in France. Over the course of the stay, Dominique and Jean-Renaud showered us with very thoughtful care. Arriving after a long drive from the airport in Paris, my wife and I quickly felt at home in Chambre des Dames in their nicely-restored historic house located in a quiet village. The off-street secured parking was a bonus, even if there was a small charge for it. Our needs for a gluten-free diet were nicely accommodated including a surprise cupcake with lit candle on the morning of my birthday. Breakfast was always ample and delicious, and Dominique's suggestions for the day were informative. She gave us good tips on visiting the amazing Loire chateaux and suggested a nearby restaurant where we had the best dinner of our holiday. Late one afternoon they invited us to have a glass of wine and pleasant conversation with them in the lounge. On the last day we needed to fill up our rental car with petrol and when the local automated station would not accept my credit card, Dominique kindly put the charge on hers and we reimbursed her. Would every B&B hostess be so willingly thoughtful? By the end of the stay we felt as if we had been visiting old friends who would help us out in any way possible. Le Belvedere is among the best French B&Bs we have stayed in. Yes, we would certainly go back again!
