We arrived at Le Deltaplane following a long journey up from the south of France. We chose Le Deltaplane due to its convenience for the Euro-tunnel (6 minutes travel time) and also proximity to the beach. After reading other reviews we weren't sure what to expect. Our room was cosy but basic and included an en-suite shower and toilet, we also had a double window for ventilation. What we found quite amazing was that the hotel is only part of the service that the owners are offering. They have a very popular public bar with some good Belgian beer on draft. The bar walls are covered with interesting pictures and items collected by the owners. They also run a restaurant which is open to non-residents. We had some fantastic mussels to accompany our beers and overall enjoyed our stay. Quite a cheap stay at just over €60 for the room - not the worst place we've stayed in by quite a margin. Great for a stopover.

Hotel Le Deltaplane - unusual and family run

Staff are nice, they speak a little english. We had a sink in the room, the shower and toilet was out in the hall and was shared by several rooms. The sheets were clean, but it's obvious there's not much deep cleaning of the rooms going on. Wi-Fi didn't work. TV worked half the time. No toilet paper in the toilet, no hand soap by the sink in the room. Extremely basic, I've stayed at hostels way better than this. Should be a lot cheaper than this, but it's ok if you're two and don't want to pay full price for a hotel. Book at your own risk, bring toilet paper and hand soap.

Ok, but too expensive for what you get.

I have just returned from this terrible ordeal. I was volunteering for a refugee charity in France close to where the hotel is located. However the word 'Hotel' over rates this place. It was more simply camping with a solid roof over the top. 
To start, I was asked to pay the full amount for 6 nights before seeing/ properly checking in. 
My room was located in the furthest location, in the attic on the top floor; at the end off the dark corridor. En route to my room I decided to check out the shared bathroom, this is probably worse than a prison toilet. The window is cracked, it was cold, no toilet paper was provided and the shower was mouldy. I also later found out you are limited to hot water to about 10 minutes or so before the water ran cold. 
Opposite the toilet was a Vietnamese mask where above you can hear the electrics ticking. Something out of a horror movie springs to mind. 
My room had a small TV, basin, fridge, microwave and metal (stiff) wardrobe. The fridge and microwave were dirty to start. The room also reached of smoke, which was revolting considering I'm a non smoker. 
The small heater to warm the room wasn't enough and I was cold the entire time. Even with the provided blankets I was heaving at the stains and animal/ human hair on them. The pillow was practically invisible, it was so small leaving me with a sore neck each morning. It is fair to say my sleep was limited in this hotel of horrors, which was extremely difficult considering my volunteer demands. There were consistent noises, creaking, walking, music throughout the night, every night.

Ultimately I would have preferred to have stayed with the refugees I was assisting as I would have felt more safe.

For the money I am extremely upset at the cost for all six nights and was refused to cancel during my stay or any refunds. Save yourself the hassle and do not stay here, unless you are looking at filming a horror movie then this place is ideal!!

(I will be taking this complaint further as the standards were completely unsatisfactory)

Horrified

Sadly I thought I would go local for a change. Bad choice, very basic room, bathroom  and toilet shared with a number of other rooms. Look paper in the room, none in the bathroom. Towels skimpy. The hosts are aimiable about  all I could say in favour.  Premiere Classes or similar in the same price range and far more comfortable.

Excellent value and handy location.

Clean, tidy - everything you need. Staff are very friendly and helpful - I would recommend this hotel, you won't be disappointed.

Looks can be deceiving...

arrived here off  the ferry 1am ish having already rang in advance.was given a key code to access the hotel which was easy enough.tho the hotel says no parking there is side street parking about.Hey this is as basic as it gets ,no kettle ,brew kit etc ,but a clean functional room ideal for late arrivals or people want to be away early.not worth £44 quid tho more like £25
