This is such a bad hotel I literally just booked a different hotel for my stay even though I can’t cancel it. It has two twin beds pushed together for a bed. We may as well have slept on a Boulder. The shower head is 5ft off the ground. The shower itself is tiny. The hallways are dark and the lights only turn on my motion, feels like a great place to stage a horror movie. The carpet in the hallways looks like people have been puking on it. Little to no cleaning. I am not too particular with my hotels but this place seems like the type of place you book by the hour. THIS PLACE SUCKS. It’s so bad I feel compelled to write a review so people won’t waste their money like I did. I never have written a review in my life until now. DO NOT GO HERE: THERE ARE MANY SIMILARLY PRICED HOTELS IN THE REGION THAT ATLEAST HAVE A REAL QUEEN MATTRESS.

The only thing that was nice was the staff.

The mattresses are twins they push together. BAD BAD BAD

The location is central (located at the top in the heart of the old town). The staff are friendly. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. We had breakfast in the restaurant on one of the mornings & it was simple & nice - €23.50 (though the two glasses of orange juice was slightly overpriced at €10). We were able to leave our luggage on the final day (ferry time was later)

The bathroom - I would not call it a shower. Its a hand held "shower" and the wall "handle" doesn't hold it)- see photo. I brought it to the hotels attention and they didn't do anything cos they were "full" This is a pity cos for the price we paid that wasn't good enough for us (I say this in that maybe it's in line with Bonifacio rates). For me with long hair trying to wash/use it was difficult and impractical trying to hold it and wash at the same time.

There is also a little glass shelf which is very flimsy so can't take much in terms of holding the toiletries. Hopefully the hotel will read this (please note I'm not looking for a reply or response as when I brought it to their attention they simply said that's how their showers are and that was that) & improve their shower situation in the future especially as It's also an extremely tight cubicle. I'm saying it for the benefit of the next traveller as I read reviews and book on that basis. And if you don't mind this then you'll find everything else fine!

Nice hotel with good location

I stayed here for two nights, to rest from travel and to enjoy Bonifacio.  The hotel is in an exquisite location: right in the middle of the action in the old town.  There are restaurants, shops, and scenic treasures galore everywhere you look.  I learned that most people stay in Bonifacio at the very most one night, and honestly that is as long as anyone would want to stay here.  There is no elevator (I had written to the hotel several times inquiring about this, but received no response), so I had to just make the best of it.  You have to walk through the restaurant to get to the small hotel lobby, which is a bit awkward.  The room was a decent size but the bathroom needed to be cleaned.  I also realized there are no phones in the rooms.  It's extremely basic, which is fine as long as you manage expectations: it's a decent place to lay your head for a night.  But "One Night Only" should be the motto.

Ideal Location But More Like a Sub-Par Motel

Brilliant location within the citadelle, therefore close to a wide choice of restaurants, shops, etc. You have to pass through the restaurant/bar each time you come and go from your room, and there is no elevator. Parking is provided a block away – you might need to seek directions at the hotel before you park.
Spacious room and bathroom. However, the shower was a hand-held device within a bath - no screen or curtain, so water went everywhere.

Location!

It is a bit above average but it's not Very Good, it was let down by the breakfast. Location is very good and rooms are a decent size but in need of a refurb. As with all bars and restaurants here prices are quite high. We had the option of the secure parking but found the 'moto' bay next to the hotel emptied out late afternoon so some of us used that.
Had a meal in the restaurant which was simple but OK.
Easy access to the port for Sardinia.

Another hotel that needs a 'Good' ranking

Good size rooms. Nice and clean, although a bit dated. But hey, when in Corsica, you don't stay in your room anyway! We booked a "chambre panoramique" and had view of the bay and parts of the street. The hotel offers parking on a private parking lot quite a bit from the hotel, but we found a place in the street and left the car there. Traffic is terrible in Bonifacio, leave the car parked and walk around - not many streets to drive on anyway. Nice price on hotel rooms. We did not have breakfast, but you can if you want to, nut sure on the cost. Restaurant on hotel was great, and location is perfect in the middle of everything!

Great location!

royal is basic but basic good: room 106 was double room 334€ for 4 nights : wifi works well in room : cleaned everyday with fresh towels soap etc.. will also make bed: carpets vacuumed only after checkout . excellent location : within walking distance of all churches/ food places, cemetery and peninsula 2 min glorious walk : tourist office 3 mins at end of street turn right at office walk down hill take steep stairs on left to ‘marina’ port and 2 good supermarkets  : easy up & down (i’m 58 have artificial heart valve and arthritis in knee and i did it easily many times) desk staff speak little english but u can communicate they’re generally friendly although the women seemed a little stern or tired at end of the season: i didn’t / wouldn’t eat there : exit through annexed restaurant turn right taxi rank with all new movers near public loo demountable: keep walking straight for seriously WOW picturesque walk to cemetery 

great for price 

We stayed one night at the Hotel Le Royal in Bonifacio. 
We booked 3 rooms; two in the main building and one across the street. 

The first two rooms were located on the second level, in the far end of the building. The rooms were not freshly renovated as we were excepting (from the pictures). They were clean but would benefit from a makeover. The amenities were also very minimal, I think we only had hand soap. The WIFI connection also did not work from these two rooms. The third room (across the street) was renovated, as shown in the pictures, but in a basement. 

The service was ok. It seems like the staff is more busy working in the restaurant that is shared with the hotel. We enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant. 

A perk is the free parking with the hotel (parking about 5 minutes away).

Well located, rooms ok

we enjoyed a late LUNCH here, it is a very busy restaurant since it is located very central in old Bonifacio. They have several dining rooms and we selected the one were we had a  view down to the port.

There waiter provided good service. We selected  Salade Cesar which had plenty of chicken in it ( see picture )  the Salad was very enjoyable and tasted good. 

We certainly can recommend this restaurant. Enjoy your meal...
