Accolti al bancone in modo gentile,l ostello all apparenza è discretamente pulito alla reception ,ma già salendo le scale si nota una moquette poco igienizzata (la sensazione è che non venga pulita da diverso tempo)le stanze appaiono salubri a prima vista ,ma notiamo immediatamente la presenza di sgradevoli insetti nel letto e sul pavimento ,inoltre le lenzuola non sembrano particolarmente pulite,abbiamo chiesto una coperta che presentava diverse macchie . Durante la notte risveglio con bruciore sulla schiena , allorché accedendo la luce ho trovato sgradevoli ospiti , camminare sul letto .Chiesto il cambio di stanza alla direttrice,ma impossibilitato da un ostello pieno.Spruzzato il DDT ovunque .chiesto un parziale rimborso senza riscontro ,inoltre mentre stavamo andando via un asciugamano era pieno di formiche ,la direttrice non ha mostrato sorpresa nel ricevere la notizia

The staff received us kindly .The hostel apparently looks quote clean,but getting upstairs we noted a moquette not really cleaned(the ourfeeling Is that the stairs had not be cleaned since a long time),the room seems to be hygenized ,but we immediately realized the presence of not really appreciated bugs on the bed as well as on the floor...moreover the sheets don 't look particularly cleaned .We asked for a cover but that showed several spots everywhere .Over night we could feel a bad sensation along the backbone.the ants were walking on my body also they were biting me .We asked for a change of room but the hostel was completely full.The inique solution left was to spray the bugs  repellent, we asked for a partial refund but without receiving any answer..Also while we were going out, we noted that a towel was covered with ants,the director was not Surprise about issues detected.

I stayed at Hostel20 for just one night. It proved a great choice to experience the tiny, enchanting and welcoming town of Bayonne and its Basque heritage. The staff was welcoming and friendly, and the location is great. It's only a few minutes away from the railway and bus stations (or at least, the Flixbus stop, only a couple streets away from the Gare centrale) in the Petit Bayonne, across the river from the old town (Grand Bayonne) but no less nice. Actually, crossing the river can be quite spectacular, but I'm digressing.



Not flawless or too cheap, but pleasant and welcoming

Although the hostel is not directly in the city centre, there are a few trams more or less at the front door. There are only two stops to the city. Before we were allowed to enter the hotel, fever was measured. We had a four-bed room for two. The bathroom or the toilet were on the floor. Everything was clean. The rooms were equipped with lockers (2 €, which you can then get back). Breakfast is available for 3.50 / tea with an egg 5 €. Coffee and stand are available free. The internet works. Before the reception there is only one seating area outdoors. The staff was friendly and spoke English.

Well located

Due to the Corona situation I wasn't able to travel and forgot to cancel - the staff got in touch with me and didn't charge me any penalty. Thanks very much, I hope to see you next year if I get the chance to do this trip at another time!

Very kind and cooperative staff

I stayed in this hostel for four days. My first observation is that when I got to my bed was not made, I had to call a guy at the reception to clean it up for me, the impression I had was that they hadn't cleaned up since the last person who stayed there left. Finally, this can happen, although it's boring. Another downside is breakfast; I made a reservation that included breakfast, however, I was very disappointed with what was offered. You only have the right to a mini bench and a croissant, there's no possibility of walking again; coffee and tea can be repeated. If you want to access eggs and bacon, yogurt and juice, you pay extra. Better to go outside. On the other hand, eating something young and young, but the staff can always go for dinner, but it's always worth a good night's work.

Careful staff but poor breakfast

I spend some days at the hostel20 and it was so nice. The people that work there are always so attentive and friendly. the rooms and the toilets are clean and the leaving room its a very good pleace to know new people take a coffee  and read some books.

the best

It's a bad structure. Only 1 shower and 1 bathroom on the floor. No laundry, if we want to consider the one above the toilet, next to the dish soap packaging instead of hand soap. It's all very old and uncomfortable. And after booking months earlier, they're e-mailing me saying the price wasn't what they agreed on, but double for an ERROR, all of which goes into several mail mines where they threaten to put me in a dorm!

Worst hostel ever

We were traveling between Paris and the Dordogne Valley and stopped here in Bordeaux.  This was a great layover spot.  Very friendly staff who answered all our questions and provided cheap tasty quick meals.  Bordeaux was a lovely spot with a nice variety of inexpensive cafes along the riverway with other small  neighborhood spots to visit.  A very nice park and the interesting nighttime sites of the Boirse Monuments and its lovely reflections.  The hostel made it very convenient to go between the airport and the train station.

Clean helpful and very convenient

I find it difficult to evaluate this hostel soberly after meeting so many great people there. But here, as so often in France, a causal of over 100 euros is retained, which I did not think was worth it. Bad news for train passengers: count on about 40 minutes if you should walk from the train station to the hostel. Even with the OV, it is good and I like 30 minutes. Another option is the bicycles offered in the city. However, as is often the case in France, a causal of over 100 euros is retained, which I did not think was worth it. Apart from the location, I really like the hostel. The staff, many of whom stay at the hostel, are friendly and offer a handshake.

Nice staff and great extra offers.

Very nice youth hostel, welcoming international staff, nice and very responsive. Very well located, close to the tram and the city's sights, in a very pleasant neighborhood. It has all the necessary amenities, everything is clean, spacious and bright bedrooms-bedrooms. Beautiful patio for meeting other guests. I recommend!
