We stayed at the Villa Valflor on our first in France after an overseas flight. We enjoyed our stay. The hosts are very accommodating to non-French speakers. We enjoyed staying in the old family home and having dinner along the 5-minute walk to the coast. Highly recommend.

First night in France

This little guest house is run by a lovely French couple. They only have a few rooms, so it becomes a nice and familiar atmosphere. It is will situard, close to the beach and some nice restaurants. By cab over by the local communting boat,  it is not far to the city center. There are also buses, but they often tend to be slow and overcrowded.

I had a room with a large balcony. However, I did not use it very much, as I was there during an exceptionally warm period. Instead I spent much of the days at the pool, in their lovely garden. 

I will for sure come back next summer.

A woderful small bed and breakfast

...after driving from Provence, into the Carmargue thru the traffic that is Marseille, we were pretty well spent by the time we pulled onto Blvd. Molinari trying to locate #13. It's not that long of a street but we did find the address, parked in front of someone else's garage door because street parking is at a premium, went up to the unassuming front door past a gate and knocked. Was met by one of the owners, a wonderfully charming woman who directed us to back up and she would open another gated entry to drive our car back to what I can only describe is a great lil' "oasis" one block from the beach in Pointe Rouge. We eventually got to meet her husband as well, who was equally chraming.

This place is great! Plenty of restaurants, small stores and a bakery that are easily within a block or so a walking distance. The grounds were so nice with a welcoming soaking pool that was perfect to cool off.

We're American and just had the best time enjoying the neighborhood, the city itself and drive to Bandol and Cassis with Villa Valfor being a perfect place to explore it all.

A Great Lil' Jewel...

A great find to relax just outside Marseille and close to the hiking pathsin the Calanques. A beautiful 19th century villa with big rooms and incredibly friendly owners. An oasis of quiet, pleasant surroundings and excellent breakfast. All in all a real find.

Great find

We spend 3 nights at this villa. Our room was overlooking the Mediterranian garden with exotic plants, palm trees and pool. The hotel is run by a very friendly and helpful couple. Everything is taken care of in a personal and charming way! We especially enjoyed the typical French breakfast that was served on a large table on the garden terras.

A Mediterranian gem

Wonderfully relaxing few days between the calanques and Marseille. The room was really lovely and had lots of character. The house is large and very typical of the South of France. The hosts are very welcoming and responsive when you need help or advice. The parking is quite tight but very convenient if not essential given the situation on the street!

Relaxing oasis on the edge of Marseille

I selected this place based on the reviews here and a look at Google Earth. I wasn't disappointed. The owners are helpful and friendly. Our room was comfortable, air conditioned and the shower room looked almost new.The garden is lovely with sunny or shady spots all around. The pool was clean and well maintained. On a shady side of the garden was a water cascade. Continental breakfast was spot on. Yoghurt, orange juice, cheese, 2 varities, a good selection of jams, bread and breakfast pastries.
During the day the owners will provide tea/coffee/soft drinks and tuned beer for a modest price. Meals cannot be brought back to your room or garden so no takeaway 
pizza from the corner shop.
Our iPads and iPhones didn't receive the wifi signal on our 2nd floor room. Our room had access to a patio but little use of it was made by us.
It is very near to a selection of bars/restuarants and close to the stop for the bus to Marseille or the Metro line.

A relaxing week spent here.

We did not know what to expect with Villa Valflor, but were so pleased when we arrived and discovered this beautiful B&B. The 200 year old building has retained all its charm and the owners were so welcoming, they could not do enough to help. The garden is stunning, a perfect place to relax and soak up the atmosphere. Added to this it has a pool and is only 2 minute walk to the beach.

We loved it.
