Every single person who Worked here was really kind. Alot of people are here looking for a good time and experience. The 16 dorm bed rooms were SUPER clean!!! Great showers, Free breakfast. Just Fantastic!

Perfect

The hostel is located opposite Saint Charles Station, where you can get a bus or train to go to nearby cities and the airport. That’s why I booked a room in this hostel.

The harbour is 20 minutes away on foot. 

Apart from its location and nice staff, i didn’t like anything. I booked a private twin room, but when we arrived, the staff reuqested us to take bed linen on our last day and put them to the laundry basket. Ok, I might be staying in a hostel, however, i booked a private room.

It’s also overpriced. I paid €60 per night for twin room which doesn’t have A/C and tv. It wasn’t a last call reservation. I Booked the room in three months advance.

The cleaning lady didn’t come to clean the room every day. So, every night i walked down the reception to ask toilet paper and soap. They said even the private rooms aren’t cleaned every day ?!?!

The area looks dodgy, so we didn’t come to the hotel after 9 pm.

Location and staff

We stayed in the 16 bed dorm and it was very smelly. It had four bathrooms, but only two with a toilet. There's no lock on the dorm door, but there are lockers (bring your own padlock, as per usual). The common room is very nice - a bit of a run down building but in a super positive way! The courtyard is very nice, with a little roofed part and comfortable seats. There's a bar in the hostel but it's poorly lit so not a nice place to hang out. The location is really nice, 2min walk from the bus/train station and only 15min to the old port. I would probably not come back ,but I would recommend it for backpackers on a budget!

Could be so much more!

Vertigo is conveniently located opposite the station and the receptionist, Sebastian, was really nice. It’s a chilled out place with nice public spaces.

The breakfast was overpriced and the dorms were ok - not the best value but not bad either.

Good vibe - ok hostel

Located few yards from St Charles train station and in a dodgy area, the place offered a tiny kitchen, living room and nice outdoor common area. The problem is that there is no A/C and It was impossible for me to sleep. The price of 38 euros in a dormitory for 4 people and a poxy breakfast for 5 euros. They're having people on !
I would not come back and therefore do not recommend it.

Old and overpriced hostel

Stayed in a 16 bed dorm (I'm used to cheap hostels, I didn't wasn't expecting luxury, but this was subpar)

They do not have a key for the door, so the room is essentially open to the whole hostel 24/7 (and since they let anyone in the front door, it's essentially open to the public). They have lockers but you have to bring your own padlock. 

2 toilets for 16 people was tough.

No soap to wash your hands (every hostel I have stayed in has had at the very least a big tub of cheap hand soap in every bathroom) so I can only imagine the horrors of taking a microscope to anywhere in the room, it makes me ill. 

Expensive breakfast (at this price, it should be included, it's just bread and coffee)

The 16 bed rooms are half lofted, so there's an upper floor inside the room. Good luck if you get a bed below that part of the room, it sounds like a war zone as late as 1am and then as early as 6am. 

It is in a good location very close to the metro, so, there's that. The staff is nice as well.
