Family owned and operated, and situated on a bay that connects to the Mediterranean Sea, it is the perfect spot to enjoy any type of shellfish or fish of any kind (that is caught locally!) With an outside terrace and a view of the thousands of oyster beds just off the coast, it is a very welcoming spot and perfect for a glass of wine at sundown. The neighboring village of Sète is also just across the bay and with its multicolors and church steeple makes for a perfect photo backdrop! The interior is warm and welcoming and the service is professional and multi-lingual. The assortment of shellfish is their drawing card but everything we had (including the amazing desserts) was great! And a great apperitif and wine selection! With an attached hotel it makes a great spot to visit when in this part of France or on the way to or from Barcelona!

When we first arrived, I wasn't sure about this hotel - there was an odd stale water smell around the car park area at the back and it looked a bit grotty when we parked the car at the back of our room. The decor is dated, but it was spotlessly clean and then we opened the room door and looked out at the large sparkling pool and I realised it was actually very nice. The pool is lovely and it's nice to have a terrace with chairs overlooking that.

The staff were very friendly and we'd booked dinner in the restaurant. The food was excellent but the wine list was expensive - the wines were good, but I don't usually spend that much on wine! 

Breakfast was also quite pricey for what it was. I notice a previous reviewer had said they didn't make it clear breakfast  wasn't included - for us, it was on our booking email and again when we arrived they asked if we wanted to add breakfast, making it clear it wasn't part of the price of the room. Also, although many people were sitting inside, others went out onto the terrace to have their breakfast and this seemed to be perfectly acceptable to the hotel.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

It grew on me...

We stayed for 11 nights at this motel in room 40 at the first floor.
We booked in March this year direct with the hotel, however we got a room in the corner with limited privacy on the terrace and  just over the utility room with washingmachine(s) that would wake us up at 06:15 every morning. The room also looked totally different from the rooms shown on the hotelwebsite as ours was very dated.

We askes at the reception 3 times for another room and were told "the hotel was fully booked". Most guest stayed for shorter periods and it would have been not too difficult to give us another room. When checking-out I mentioned the noice every morning and was told this could not be correct because nobody was there at that time. (In our room was a form filled out by a previous guest with the same complaint)

The motel has all the potential to be a real great place and I don't understand, why allocate a non refurbished room to an early booker that books direct with the hotel. Why is there no fridge in the room to put in some cold drinks to enjoy on the terrasse when overlooking the lake. The noice in the room at 06:15 gets denied.

The vieuw is splendid, the beds are good, the food in the restaurant is good, the pool is big and clean. Some of the staff could be more attentive and some speak good and others poor or no english.



EARPLUGS RECOMMENDED !!! 

We made the mistake to book for a whole week and had regretted it after 2 days. Restaurant looks nice and has been renewed together with the rooms but still you don't feel very comfortable as an hotel guest. The restaurant only serves fish and oysters and the breakfast room is stowed away in a dark and old fashioned room in the back of the hotel. It's a pity since such nice  terras and restaurant spaces are available. Breakfast buffet is rather basic and too expensive for what you get. Really regret this choice. The village of Bouzigues  is nice and a lot of fish restaurants. But after 3 days you have seen most of it. Rooms were very clean, impressive view over the lake with nice terras and swimming pool and basic comfort is available. 

Average hotel

This is a strange place. It's really a motel attached to a fancy restaurant. Its beside oyster farms and has a stunning outlook. It feels a bit faded but its restaurant looks chic and stylish. 

The service  let it down. When I checked in the receptionist could not have been more unwelcoming or disinterested or unfriendly. She barked instructions about how to find the the room, where to park and treated me in an unfriendly and discourteous manner.  She gave me possibly the worst rooms when I could see other rooms were free. It was a room overlooking the restaurant car park which was noisy and stank of bleach and cleaning products. It was close to the pool engine room which was noisy and smelly and I was awoken by banging at an early hour. 

There are signs everywhere telling you what you must not do such as  'you cannot use the hotel bar after 18.00 hours'. Why cant you have a drink in the bar overlooking the 'etang' as the sun goes down?. When we tried to walk through the restaurant to get to the beach the same rude receptionist shouted at us to go out the front door and not walk through the restaurant. Why can't you walk through the restaurant? This is the first time I have ever been told I am not allowed in a hotel restaurant as a guest of the hotel. 

It's a strange place - it does not know if it is a hotel or a restaurant and the bad manners and poor service of the receptionist really spoiled the whole experience.
