A beautiful place. Welcoming staff. We stayed in a very large comfortable room (Fanzy suite). Our evening meal was delicious, as was breakfast.
In a super quiet location just off the motorway about 2 hours from channel tunnel.
We booked last minute directly by phone and got same price deal as booking.com.
 We can highly recommend staying here.

A hidden gem near Laon.

Another return visit-we’ve stayed here twice before. It’s very convenient for the Eurotunnel and the accommodation and food is very good. We stayed this time in the Maria suite, which has a bedroom, a large living room and bathroom in the turret. Air conditioning was welcome! There isn’t a shower that you can stand up at, but the bath has a shower attachment. Our room was on the second floor -up a spiral staircase, and there is no lift. 
We also ate dinner in the restaurant ( very good), and breakfast was more than adequate. 
Only a minor point but as it’s a restaurant with rooms, rather than a hotel, you can’t check in till 17:00 hours.



Quiet and comfortable 

Beautiful chateau with wonderful staff and an amazing restaurant and chef.  Very clean and tastefully renovated whilst keeping the original style and character. Nice breakfast.  We really enjoyed our stay, very relaxing, thank you so much.

The room is huge, has a separate living room, a huge over the top style bathroom and the cherry on the cake is the spacious terrace with jacuzzi  overlooking the property. The decoration is stylish and pretty. So on first sight it all looks great and of course it was amazing to chill in the jacuzzi to cool off in the early afternoon and get warm just before sleep.

But then you look better and the flaws appear: the curtains are thin and cheap, so no sleeping in, because the light shines right through it. The jacuzzi looks nice, but is very dated, the jetstreams hardly have any power and the control panel is worn out (so you kinda have to figure out yourself what button does what). 
The shower in the bathroom looks kinda spacy and has showers from several directions. But it isn’t maintained, so the main shower that is supposed to be able to change the stream can’t be changed: the button is blocked. 
The bathrobes are horrible: the look tempting, but haven’t seen fabric softener in ages, so they feel like sand paper: just use some softener please!! 
The room doesn’t have a coffeemaker or a kettle or anything to make your own hot drinks: it maybe seems like nagging, but that is just what a room like this needs: being able to make a cup of tea while you wake up in the morning in the jacuzzi..
Also no cotton swabs/pads in the bathroom. And no free bottle of water either:-( 

The bed by the way is very comfi and large enough and after just a short message via the reservation tool, we were able to check in at 14.30 instead of 17.00.
The staff is super friendly but hardly speaks any English. 

I’d rate the stay with a 7 but with just small modifications in decoration /styling/ maintenance and service (that don’t need to cost a lot) I could easily rate this room a 9 (and since I’ve read a couple of the same recommendations of other visitors, I’d strongly advise you to do something with it). The €186 per night is now just bit out of balance.

It’s nice, but needs refinement

Everything about our stay was excellent.  We arrived just before 5pm knowing that we couldn't get in before. We had booked the first floor “Arsène’ suite which others have described. Very spacious, and slightly quirky (particularly the shower. ): all very comfortable though.
Breakfast was simple with juice, fruit salad, croissants and bread plus small portions of ham and cheeese. After our excellent dinner the previous night we didn’t need any more!

Superb restaurant with rooms.

Stayed 2 nights in the first floor Arsene suite and what could have been a "wow" became a let's get out of here.

Let's start with the wow factor - huge room with minimalist furniture, separate large sitting room, huge bathroom with massive shower unit (was ahead of its time when first launched many years ago), a tiny separate loo and a large terrace with hot tub, lounger and table/chairs.

In response to our observations to the hotel owner by email (she was not present while we were there), she emphasised that. room service was available, that despite the lack of a kettle and tea./cofee facilities, these were available by requesting from staff - served either in the lounge or breakfast area.  Bear in mind that this was never mentioned when we arrived or during our stay, that reception does not open until 5 pm and the breakfast closes at 10:00 when the staff member converts herself into the chambermaid.

There were other irritating, but less critical observations, some of which the owner has agreed to deal with.

At €170 per night, this was not good value for money.

The details let this hotel down badly

We stayed in 'Rosa' which is the cheapest of the 4 rooms and in the attic on the second floor.  The interior of this lovely old chateau which dates from 1860 was extensively refurbished in 2015 and is now ultra modern.  Rosa is a spacious suite with the bedroom at one end and the bathroom, which is complete with a large spa bath, in a turret at the other end.  There are lovely views and carrying the bags up and down the spiral staircase will give you a good appetite for the excellent restaurant!
Parking is easy but as other reviewers have stated do not arrive before 5pm when reception is opened as no one will be there.  Be aware too that the restaurant is closed Sunday evening and on Monday.  It was very busy on the Saturday when we stayed with rather slow service.
Breakfast is simple but good.

Great location and value

An excellent unusual hotel in a castle, easy to reach from the motorway albeit in a very quite area - the room was perfectly set, the surroundings beautiful, the restaurant very good and the staff friendly. We will certainly come back...

An excellent stay - magic with the snow!

We were given a room on the second floor - actually it was more a suite then a room as it had a separate sitting area as well as a large bathroom.  The decor was a little quirky in line with the nature of the mansarded space we were in and we enjoyed the comfort.
We also had a very enjoyable evening meal in the restaurant where the waitress was attentive and friendly.
We will stay again but one thing to point out is that they say check-in after 5pm which means that reception is not open until that time in the afternoon.

Lovely slightly quirky Hotel

My wife and I spent the first night of a southerly progression from London at Chateau de Breuil having selected it through Tripadvisor. The isolated and tranquil location makes for a wonderful peaceful location and yet it is only ten minutes drive from the autoroute. Service was friendly with plenty of English spoken should it be needed. Although it has just four suites they are imaginatively redecorated and fitted into the traditional architecture. Views from our room were delightful, looking out onto woods and parkland. The bed was comfortable. The restaurant was superb and breakfast was very well presented. Overall and absolute delight of a stopover.
