We stayed here for 12 days with family and friends. The view here is absolutely splendid, and the restaurant is quite nice, although waiting time can be long. The waiter, Nina, was charming and kind. 
The room was very basic. No aircondition, no mosquito net on one of the windows and one bed placed in the bathroom part of the room, which had an odeur coming from the shower drain. The hot room and the many bugs who found their way into it - an abundance of grass hoppers and much more - meant I did not sleep very well. 
The bathroom sink  was out of order for a day or two but was then fixed.
When my teenager daughter notified the owner that the sink was leaking a lot of water, the owner replied in a harsh tone: 'What did you do to it, break it?!' I was surprised by this way of dealing with a friendly request from a customer. 
The cleaning staff were however friendly at all times. 
The pool is quite large. There was a lot of hornets and other insects in and around the pool, but there was a net available with which the insects could be removed. 
There was no playground for children but there was a rock which they could climb on. 
The place is suited for people who prioritize beautiful surroundings and authenticity much more than comfort and a well maintained interior. 



Nice view, very basic room

Rick Steves writes that the restaurant at Auberge des Seguins is "okay".  He is totally wrong, and I am a Rick fan.  This restaurant is my favorite in France.  If I had one meal left to eat, I would have this at the top of my list.  First, the location, way off the beaten path at the foot of tall cliffs, is spectacular.  Second, the opening plate with six to eight samplings is consistently excellent.  Third, thought of the the daube as the main course makes my mouth water.  We have been coming here since 1992, and the quality has never waivered.  My wife and I love this place.  

Favorite All-Time Place

Closely located to a couple of trails offering impressive views from the mountain summit
Auberge in dire need of renovation and refurbishment (should be possible given the auberge's prime location with no alternative accommodation in the area)
Damp and gloomy room in need of thorough clean and mould in places around the shower
Uninspiring evening meals by exceptional Provence standards
Dining experience marred by flea-ridden dog begging for food
50 cl of average house wine heavily overpriced compared to high-quality bottled wine served elsewhere in Provence
Good breakfast with cereal offered in addition to customary fruit, bread and assortment of jams
Premises poorly lit at night (take a torch with you) and untidy (miscellaneous disused items scattered about)
Complacent staff (except for the staff member in the breakfast room who worked with a song in her heart)

Dank, dark and dilapidated

We stayed here for the 3rd time in 5 years. We are a family of 4- 2 boys 8 and 10 and parents, who enjoy active vacation in relaxed surroundings and that is exactly what Auberge des Seguins offers. Walking trails just outside, a pool to cool down, great local food and really nice hosts! 
The location is everything- due to mountains and the river it is nice and cool (below 20 degrees at night in July).
We can WARMLY recommend!

A little piece of Paradise?

My wife and I walked around the Luberon and booked two nights at the Auberge. The setting of the Auberge, in a valley by the river, surrounded by massive cliffs, is just stunning.  The lodging is simple, rustic and functional.  Our room was built around a huge slab of rock, which was one of the coolest thing I've seen. The staff, kind, helpful and went out of their way to make us feel part of the Auberge community.  We booked 1/2 board, so breakfast and dinner was included and we found the food to be hearty and delicious, especially the fresh trout.  Auberge attracts an outdoor community of hikers, walkers, cyclists and families that have been frequenting the area for many years.  We felt like we stumbled upon the best kept secret in the Luberon.  Amelie, the owner, was an exceptional host, and spent time giving us tips for hikes and telling us the amazing story of how the Auberge came to be.  Of all the places we stayed during our two-week walking trip, the Auberge was hands-down our favorite place to stay, mostly for the unique location (there are numerous GR hiking trails minutes away) and the delicious, home-cooking from the kitchen.  I can see ourselves coming back just to experience the beauty of this hidden gem.

Wonderful experience in a rustic, beautiful environment

I adore the Luberon but enjoy also getting off the beaten path, and this was just the spot to do that. Amélie wanted to keep her grandmother’s farm (now turned into an auberge by her parents) in the family, and she has succeeded with some élan.

The location is magical, especially in summer when its shade offers an oasis.
As others have described it, it is a series of stone outbuildings under a huge rock outcropping. Nearby is the locally-famous Fort de Buoux. (I actually walked—with backpack— past the Fort and then over the Grand Luberon mountains to Vaugines and Cucuron, thanks to Amelie’s encouragement. Fabulous!)

Rooms are simple and rustic, with no modern tech at all, which leaves the amazing stars and a very pleasant dinner:
Hors d’œuvres variés ( chick peas, herby chèvre, raw veggies with an anchoïade dip), the best tapenade I’ve ever eaten, and a tasty mushroom toast among other items), a copious starter! Fresh trout with potatoes gratin, and then a molten chocolate cake to finish. Three choices are offered for each of the 3 courses, all for 25 Euros. And excellent wine quality and prices for a remote restaurant. 

Given the isolation of the place, it isn’t grandiose, but I found it to be a memorable stay. I found breakfast a bit lacking in quality and service, which is why I couldn’t give it 5 stars. But I would recommend it as a fabulous place to enjoy nature and rustic simplicity in the lovely but overly-touristy Luberon. Merci, Amélie, Your grandmother would be proud!
