Le Manoir de Bénédicte B&B

This was our second stay at Le Manoir and equally enjoyable as our first one in 2023.  The Manoir is extremely comfortable with delightful rooms and the added attraction of a small sitting room for the use of guests. The grounds are idyllic with the advantage of a lovely swimming pool. Benedicte is a wonderful host and provides the most delicious breakfasts. She and the Manoir are true gems.

We stayed here for two nights with friends at the end of June 2023 and it was such a lovely relaxing time.  The hosts are welcoming and helpful, the house  and grounds really well kept and there is a pool in the walled garden where you can unwind.  
The rooms are comfortable, well appointed and spotless.  Breakfast is a feast, with produce from the garden when available.
You will need to cycle or drive to nearby restaurants for dinner but get to come back to this wonderful place for a nightcap! 

My friend Tony and I were on a cycling trip... Le Velo Francette....Starting from North of Caen down to Rochelle and we came across Le Manoir de Benedicte after toiling on our bikes across parts of Suisse Normandie.... 

Found the Le Manoir de Benedicte just outside of Pont de O'lly and whilst it looked a little cold from the outside.... on the opening of the front door ...the warmth...friendliness of the owners and family and fabulous rooms.... Lovely Surprise. 

Benedicte who runs the house, speaks excellent English and with her husband really look after their guests, Enjoying breakfast and late night talks with a local Calvados. Nothing appeared to be too much trouble for them as they were very very helpful. The house was full of character...we had the Blue Room ....  

My only regret was that we only stayed for 1 night. We will be back

This place exceeded our expectations and we have been singing its praises ever since we returned home. 
If you want peace and tranquility in a miniature stately home look no further! 
My only concern is that it will get very heavily booked up and we won't be able to book in again. 

We stayed with Bénédicte and her family for two nights, over the weekend of the 7th & 8th May 2022.  We received a very warm welcome from everyone.  The house and grounds, including the swimming pool, are beautiful.  Very comfortable bedrooms and a lovely breakfast each morning.  Guests have their own lounge with tea and coffee making facilities and biscuits, which was great.  It was also lovely to be able to walk through the grounds and to be able to sit outside and enjoy the view.  We hope to return!

This is such a beautiful historic property!  Really, it's the kind of place you hope to find, and very well-located for exploring Suisse Normandy as well as the surrounding areas.  The photographs are very nice, but honestly do not do it justice - it is stunning inside (and out).  The hamlet of Cahan is tiny, but it's down the road (about a minute or two drive) from Pont D'Ouilly.  The owners are kind and pleasant people and so helpful in offering tips for the area, or making a dinner reservation nearby.  The breakfasts were delicious - Benedicte is an excellent cook/baker. I wish I could've stayed longer than a weekend!

Unfortunately we only had a one night stay. It was superb. The gardens and house are well kept. We had the red room which was large and comfortable, with views over the lake. Breakfast was good. The owner recommended a lovely local restaurant. Will definitely stay again. 

We had a wonderful stay in this castle like Manoir Benedicte. The surroundings are gorgeous and lushful, with the garden, pond and little river that runs through the estate. 
Breakfast was super, with homemade jam and pastry. The beds are perfect and everything in the room was clean and neat.

We booked a family room following a recommendation from the Alistair Sawday's bible (always a safe bet!). Unfortunately due to some last minute issues we only required a room for 2. The hostess was incredibly communicative before we arrived was a great host during our stay, with excellent English. 

The property is fantastic with impeccable grounds perfect for exploring. The pool is lovely, warm and clearly well maintained. The rooms are spacious and detailed to a high standard with comfortable beds and good ensuites. Breakfast was a lovely french spread and nothing seemed too much trouble for Benedicte. 

There are a number of good places for a glass of wine or dinner nearby though be aware almost all seem to close very early so by 8:30 options are limited. Sitting with a drink by the river and listening to music at the free venue was a nice touch as well (perhaps why we nearly missed our dinner!).

As you can tell I am a big fan of this well presented family home so much so that we actually rebooked it for the following week when we were returning back from the Dordogne. This time with my wife and daughter and again we had the same impression.

We decided to stop here on our way down to Tours. What a beautiful house, grounds, room and hotel. All in all just perfectly peaceful. The owner is lovely and recommended an amazing restaurant in the nearby town. 

I would recommend to anyone

We  have just spent a delightful weekend at the Manoir de Benedicte which is situated in Cahan close to Falaise in what they refer to as the Suisse Normande since it closely ressembles Switzerland on account of the rivers and lush green environment . It’s a perfect place for water sports ,cycling  and delving into Anglo-French history 
The residence is a beautifully restored Manor house in magnificent grounds which has been in the family for generations. The warm welcome given by our hosts Benedicte and Xavier made us feel really at home and the rooms are beautifully decorated with  style and comfort. English travelers will feel comfortable since the rooms are spacious , the beds  large and the bathrooms are neat and functional! Breakfast is served in the wood paneled dining room and on offer are homemade pastries, delicious French bread  and a vast array of jams prepared by our host Xavier with fruit from the garden! May we mention that our French is a little rusty but Benedicte speaks English fluently and Xavier is extremely keen to provide information and advice both in English and in French.  
The weather was extraordinary so we made the most of the swimming pool which is set in a delightful enclosure with view on  flowers and an abundant vegetable garden which was  literally overflowing with raspberries. 
As English guests we were keen to visit the castle of William the Conqueror in Falaise which is just exceptional  and our hosts provided us with an array of information for restaurants and cultural visits which made our stay memorable.
All in all a fantastic weekend and we hope to come back with other friends so they too can discover this little gem in Anglo-Norman grounds!

Peace and Tranquility 

The chateau is a bit away from the crowded areas. It has large grounds, good rooms and a very hospitable hostess with many tips on the surrounding areas. The breakfast was delicious. We will certainly visit again.
