The  hotel looks nice but the rooms are very tiny. There is no parking so you must leave the car in private parking, (15 euros a day) The breakfast consists of a cup of tea or coffee with 2 croissants  and a glass of orange juice. The last day of our stay they did not even want to serve breakfast at eight o'clock. The lady in the concierge was nice and polite no so the other personell

My stay at Magnolia 

Perfect location, perfect setting for a romantic vacation. I felt like I stepped into a scene of Mama Mia. The hotel is surrounded by shops ,restaurants , the marina and the beach but hidden from it all. The train is also close and can take you to other little beach towns. The Hotel Staff went out of their way to make our trip to this beautiful island amazing..and despite what the cab driver told us, almost every place in calvi takes credit cards.  You do need euros for taxis though.

So charming

Before booking I'd read about the fact that you had to go through the restaurant to get to some rooms, and indeed this was the case for our room - a family suite, but I hadn't expected to have to ask customers to move chairs and to duck under plants to access the room.  Having got into the room there was an unexpected extra, a small self-contained kitchen with a full size fridge.  Although there was no kettle there were some pans, so we went out and bought some milk, as we had some filter coffee and a travel cafetiere with us.  This enabled us to make hot drinks.  However after returning on our second day we discovered that the electricity supply had been cut off to all the kitchen facilities - including the fridge.  Also on arrival we discovered that whilst there was a safe in the room, it didn't work.  Eventually, after some language issues, I was able to borrow the manual for the safe.  As it still didn't work, the hotel let me use the master key - which meant I could lock the safe without using the combination lock.  Despite everyone been friendly to us, you were left with the impression that the priority is the restaurant which has some rooms attached - rather than a hotel.  We did discover there was a reception desk upstairs above the restaurant, but it was rarely manned - and even then not always by anyone who spoke English.  A few issues which did take away from our otherwise delightful stay in Calvi.

Central location restaurants, bars and shops.  Easy access to railway station

This is an hotel in the center of old Calvin, not easy to find and impossible to drive to. It has few rooms in the original building and several facing a small garden. Our room was recently renovated. The decoration was a bit tacky flamboyant for our taste, but everything was clean and in proper working order, including an efficient and silent AC. The room had no view and was a bit noisy in the afternoon. The breakfast was worthless.

Clean Room nicely decorated, beautiful bathroom. Good A/C, central location.  Breakfast is a simple continental breakfast consisting of bread, pastry, small plums, hot drink, juice.

Important info.  There is no parking at the hotel.  Do no try to drive to it!  Park in paid parking around the citadel at the top level or go down to the bottom of the citadel and park there

Nicely decorated Victorian room

We didn't stay here but another traveler highly recommended the restaurant.  It didn't disappoint.  The food was excellent (I had the scallops with morel sauce).  The portions were large but not overwhelming. The service was attentive and friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant.  The food was a bit pricy but well worth it

Excellent dining

We spent a couple of nights at this little hotel when we first arrived in Corsica ahead of hiking the GR20 and another night just before we left the island. First impressions weren't great as we received a rather chilly welcome. Moreover, our room was rather small and old fashioned. But in the end they won us over by agreeing to store our luggage while we were off hiking and upgrading us to a bigger room with a sea view & a bath on our return. Particular thanks to the lovely Oreille who was charming and very helpful.
