Came upon this place on a travelling holiday in Corsica. A very welcoming and conveniently situated studio apartment with fridge and tea making facilities. The person in charge could not do enough to please us and overcame the language barrier as we did ourselves purely because she wanted to make us welcome.
Clean, quiet handy for all amenities including beach about 100 metres away.
It would be ideal for families with children as they have an outdoor pool in the gardens along side apartments.

A good find

I have stayed at the Studios Casa Vecchia many times and will continue to do so as it is absolutely perfect for my needs.  The studio apartment is clean, simply furnished but well equipped with everything one neeeds.  The view from the terrace here on third floor is spectacular; mountains on the right, the beautiful bay staight ahead and the amazing Citadel is to the left.  I've spend many happy warm summer evenings on the terrace with a glass or two of the delicious dry Corsican Rose, just enjoying the view and feeling so happy to be back in Corsica again. 

 The apartment is ideally situated; a couple of minutes' walk to the beach and about five minutes walk from the shops and restaurants, and only a minute from Super U, which is very convenient.  Although the studios are near all the amenities they are tucked away from the main road so are peaceful and reasonably quiet. 

The owners, Marie-Josee and Jean-Marie are both kind, helpful and speak English, and always make me feel very welcome.  I intend to keep returning twice a year  to my Corsican paradise!

My personal Heaven

I agree with everything Victoria M wrote in her review "little Paradise".
Very clean, well equipped studio, opening onto wonderful peaceful garden. Private terrace and also options to sit anywhere in the garden.
Excellent location, no more than 5 mins from beach, port, supermarket, yet very calm and peaceful.
There is even free wifi in the garden!
Marie and Jean Marie are very friendly and helpful.
I would definitely recommend these studios.

Perfect situation

We absolutely enjoyed our stay here, this place is a true gem! The building consists of several units, but there is enough privacy since each apartment has its own entrance and a private terrace. In fact, we had more of a feeling that we were in a small house rather than an apartment since all studios are on the ground floor and you step out directly into the garden or the rear terrace. The studio we stayed in was very basic, definitely nothing fancy or luxurious, but it was clean, cozy, and had all things necessary, including plenty of kitchen utensils, and the furniture was new. The bathroom was also small and basic, but fully functional (the owner mentioned though he has plans to renovate the bathrooms). But in any event, we did not end up spending much time inside because – and this is the greatest asset of this place – it is surrounded by an amazing (and pesticides-free!) garden; in fact, I’d rather call it a park, and it is indeed a little paradise! Not to mention all kinds of plants growing there, there are tables scattered all over it so you could have a meal anywhere you wish, there are hammocks, and a grill. Our children had plenty of room to run around and explore the nature.

The location is superb! It’s within a 10-min drive from the Calvi airport, a 5-min walk to the historical town center with restaurants and shops, a 5-min walk to the 4.5 km long nice sandy beach with a stunning view over the Citadel on one side and the mountains on the other, and with clean shallow water (perfect for kids).  To the nearest supermarket it’s a 2-min walk. And yet, in spite of being so close to everything, one really has an “away-from-it-all” feeling. It can hardly get better!

The owner deserves a special mention. He is very welcoming, helpful and relaxed, he brought us some zucchini and fresh lettuce from the garden (in fact, he told us we were free to use the vegetables and herbs growing there) – this taste you can simply not buy at any supermarket.  He is present at the property every day because he is there to take care of the garden anyway, which is his “grande passion.”

I can wholeheartedly recommend this place!

Little Paradise

The Casa Vecchia studio was exactly what we had hoped for. The studio itself was very nice and it was very thoughtfully furnished with kitchen and cleaning items. Tile floors, handy appliances and billowing curtains onto the little balcony. The balcony view showed  parts of Calvi and the citadel, mountains to the west and, of course, the bay with its many boats of all sizes. It was a short walk each morning to the super market, cafes for a petite dejeune or the beach. What more could we have wanted! The owner Jean Marie was very accommodating and able, in English, to give us directions, answer questions, talk politics or give us a tour of his gardens. He and his Casa Vecchia studio made our stay in Calvi perfect. We found September to be a great time to visit Corsica because the rush of summer visitors had left but the weather was still warm and sunny, the water was warm enough to swim and there were still plenty of flowers blooming. When we think back on or trip to Corsica I think our stay at Casa Vecchia studio will always be one of our fondest memories.
