Nice house from 1811 renovated. Charming home, but a bit difficult logistic given the little space in the city (parking in front of the door, ringing for only a few hours and then parking the vehicle in a private and barred parking lot). Nice swimming pool, but we didn't have time to try it. We were 5 and so were entitled to a 2 bedroom apartment with a nice living room. What a nice holiday when you can listen to a Netflix movie away from home thanks to ChromeCast access.

Beautiful home near the city

Very beautiful house with tasteful and typical decoration. Garden with nice and rare swimming pool in the city centre. Ideally located. Quality restaurant. Outstanding house cassoulet. The hosts are charming. We will return with pleasure without hesitation!

Fantastic 2 minutes from the city

Fabulous villa, furnished with style and elegance situated within 10 minutes walk from the Cité, in a quiet and  unobtrusive spot.Rooms were pleasantly cool ( air conditioned) and spacious, beds generous and comfortable. Many of the rooms have a view towards the Cité.
 The property has a lovely shaded garden with a swimming pool - a green oasis in the heart of the town. The hosts are charming and welcoming  and offer an  abundance of useful local information.  
Breakfast was served in the stately dining room with fresh and tasty local produce
.On site private parking,was a bonus, ideal if this is a stopping off point on a longer trip.
 

Elegant and spacious old hotel with garden and pool 

The hotel consists of a palace from 1800 and everything is coordinated with the idea that you want to give, that is, of a well-restored historic residence. From the background music, to the pool in the garden (new in '22), to a fantastic breakfast, the living room is really to remember. The owner is a very kind lady, who welcomes you with a smile!

Really unique

On arrival Marianne very helpful and showed us around. The hotel is, it must be said, quite complicated with manual support required to access the garage and the door locks also seem unnecessarily tricky.

Overall, the hotel is rather faded and this extends to the rooms. Old furniture spanning different  styles and eras.

The formula here leans towards self catering facilities, with a fully equipped kitchen in our small room  (including a dishwasher and washing machine???).

There were cleanliness issues throughout, leaving a musty smell everywhere. The bathroom in our room had some mould growing on untreated wood in the shower.

The garden is unkempt and grounds need work. Pool looked nice.

Breakfast was plentiful, served at a communal table; not to everyone’s taste.

Nobody manning the bar unless you make an external phone call!

The entire place needs significant investment, so if you like these throwback places, it is recommended that you go soon, because it is unsustainable in this format for very much longer.

It was once a grand house, but now finds itself opposite the town prison and surrounded by social housing.

Price is competitive.

Faded grandeur

A charming hotel with a medieval decoration, distinguished and landscaped. A good welcome from our guests, proper breakfast. A very good proximity to the city. In a few minutes' walk we are there. We were lucky enough to have a view of the city and it is breathtaking especially at night. Swimming pool, spa, garden and summer living room are extremely pleasant. The best would be to change the simple glazing of the rooms that allows the noise of cars to pass through at night. With this change it would be 5 stars without hesitation.

A beautiful parenthesis

The hotel is in an ideal location close to to walled city which is a short uphill walk away. Stephane has several recommendations for restaurants and our choice was very nice No 37. Breakfast was fine but the whole hotel and gardens just needed a bit more attention to detail regarding tidiness.

Good one night stop over

Charming house and host. Good traditional breakfast. Excellent location, with many good restaurants within walking distance. Perfect for our needs en route to Italy. Would stay again if in Carcassonne.

A very nice place, with a view of the medieval city, which you can reach in a few minutes on foot. Ideal location. Guest house with private parking and possibilities for dining. Very good reception and superb decoration 👍
