The accommodation was very traditional and a nice quiet setting, a little out of the main town so having a car to get around is advisable. A 10 minute drive into Carcassonne and parking was easy. The service provided by Catherine was exceptional providing home baked cakes every day for breakfast and always happy to provide advice on where to go and where to eat out. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

Peaceful location, exceptional value.

This is a lovely, historic, quiet and very well-managed “home away from home” in the quiet hamlet of Villalbe, just 10 minutes’ drive from the centre of Carcassonne.  

Catherine and her husband are delightful hosts. Having bought the house from Patricia last year, they are continuing the tradition of hospitality and convenience. 

There is off-street parking immediately in front of the property. The house has several guest rooms and a beautiful outdoor terrace on which to enjoy breakfasts in a walled garden.  There is also have a pool (we didn’t use it because it was already October, but it looked wonderful and was cleaned each day).

There is a complimentary coffee/tea area beside the nice lounge for relaxing inside if the terrace is chilly.  Breakfasts were continental in style and ample. It was a real treat to have them on the terrace (the dining room is also very nice and other guests preferred breakfast inside – the hosts were happy to accommodate either option).

Our room was very comfortable (the bed was a little firm for my particular taste, but I like a soft mattress!). We navigated the shower in the bathtub without difficulty (even though it was different from what we usually have) and the view from our room over the courtyard to the fields beyond was very special. 

Aux Anges Gardiens was an ideal base for us. We only stayed two days but would have happily stayed longer and would return!

The property is very beautiful and typical French style. Worth driving 5mins out of the City to enjoy the quiet ambience.  The friendly hosts could not do enough to make sure our stay was pleasurable. Even getting up at 6am to see us off and give us a pack up breakfast for the journey home.
Really enjoyed the pool at 28c it was so refreshing after a record temperatures. We hired bikes from Evadeo cycles in the City and cycled into the City from the nearby Aude River cycle path into the City to watch the arrival and depart of the TDF. 
We ate out in the City most evenings but ate one evening on the lovely patio at the hotel after purchasing some supermarket goodies with the company of another couple also stopping there. There is small area also where can you can help yourself to tea and coffee,  microwave,  and utensils.  

Home from home beautiful place

Really do not want to tell to many people about "Aux Anges Gardiens", but what a find. The place is lovely and so beautiful, from the time you park your car at the front and walk in through the door - you are at home.  Situated in a quiet village just outside Carcasonne, ideal for visiting the city, you will want to stay longer or wish you had!
Patricia & her husband are the ideal hosts and English speaking, nothing is ever to much. So much knowledge of the area.
We will be back, that's for sure - Thank you.

What a find, typically French with loads of character.

Wonderful hosts Patricia and Andre. They made us feel so welcome and were so helpful advising us of local attractions, restaurants etc. The house is beautifully decorated with spacious rooms. Very clean. We loved having a drink on the back terrace before we went out for dinner and I also braved a dip in the pool which was very enjoyable. Oh and not forgetting Patricia's homemade cakes - delicious. We would definitely be back as we love Carcassonne so much. Fabulous place to visit. Paricia also speaks very good English which helped with our pigeon French.

Charming and tranquil

Set in a lovely, quiet village just outside Carcassonne this accommodation is a great place to stay.  The building itself is typically French with loads of character. Parking is available in front of the building. Breakfast can be taken on the terrace.  There is a good sized pool in the gardens for guests. The owners are very friendly, helpful and speak English. I’d happily stay here again.

Aux Anges Gardiens is an excellent choice for individuals that want to stay in a location close the the area attractions but out of the tourist areas. Peace and Privacy

Our fifth visit to this amazing house, hosted by the wonderful, kind and so helpful Patricia and Andre. The rooms are stylish and chic, the garden and pool area is beautifully maintained and relaxing and the location, just out side Carcassonne is stunning. Not only is Aux Anges Gardiens our favourite place in France, but possibly our favourite place in the world!!
