This hotel in the centre of town opposite public parking provided us with a comfortable nights stay and a really good evening meal.

The decor is striking and effective in red black and white and this theme ran through the dining room and bedrooms. 

The restaurant was quite full although not many guests seemed to be staying at the hotel and were presumably local. The food was excellent and included amuse bouche and we tried the aperitif cocktail of the night which was excellent Although Service was a bit staid  it worked and certainly was not intrusive.

The room was adequate and the bed comfortable and was relatively cheap. The meal was excellent and more pricey but again good value 

We would certainly consider staying here again if travelling in the area

Great food

We turned up on Saturday evening without a reservation and were quickly shown a delightful room. Very well equipped, great shower and a really comfortable bed. There was even a kettle- very unusual in Frnace! Will definitely stay again.

Lovely hotel

Stayed at this lovely hotel right at the heart of Chateaubriant, France. There is a car park right across the road with very reasonable charges.
Our room was on the 1st floor to the front of the hotel and, while there is double glazing in the timber windows there is a problem with the fit and it can be noisy during the day. However, one is unlikely to spend much time in one’s room as there is so much to see, both around this historic town and the hinterland. The castle is a short walk away and there is a guided tour available in English on a Wednesday afternoon at 2.pm until the middle of September.

The room was spotless, comfortable with a lovely shower; both a regular one and a ‘rain forest’ style available. A kettle is provided for hot drinks with coffee and cacao provided with the tea being Earl Gray or herbal. There is a drinks fridge, duly stocked. A room for two costs €78 euro at present and there are more expensive ones with full bath etc available.

Tips: There is a simple solution to noise and I strongly advise all travellers to get used to ear plugs. They are a ‘must’ for lots of different solutions and I’m not talking about the great fat sponge ones that feel like a bath towel in your ear, I mean the flexible soft more expensive variety. If you store them safely they last a long time and I would be lost without them. By the way, you can still hear emergency noises as they simply muffle sounds out.

I do not think this hotel would be suitable for wheelchair users.

Stayed an extra night....

Located in the centre of town this hotel is within walking distance of many sites and restaurants. Public parking is located across from the hotel. There is a restaurant within, but we chose to eat out. 
Our room was spacious and overlooked the main square. It had been refurbished and was clean and comfortable. Wifi access was excellent. Our room was on the first floor. Be aware there is no lift. 
Breakfast is available if required. There is a supermarket just on the corner.
