We spent three nights in La Ferme de Beauté and thouroughly enjoyed our stay. The suite where we stayed was very spacious, stylishly decorated and spotlessly clean with a beautiful view on the surrounding mountains. The five of us had very nice time there. Chateauroux-les-Alpes is located in a beautiful spot, close to the Parc d'Ecrins with easy access to the lake and beautiful slopes around. Nathalie, the host of the b&b and her son were very welcoming and helpful. We had breakfast at the b&b and enjoyed the freshly made pancakes and seld-made yoghurts. We did not have dinner at the Ferme de Beauté, but it smelled deliciously as we came in in the evening.

Little luxury b&b

Coming from Asia, my idea of typical vacations are beaches and sunsets. To be different, husband decided to book mountainside getaway for the family, includes grandparents and nephew. Drove from Pertuis (near Aix) to the mountainside. Short 2.5 hours drive which was great for the young kids. Hard to find at first and when I looked down it was scary bec we were climbing high high high up! Which means the view is fantastic in the end.

Our rooms were awesome. Loved the fact we didn't stay in a hotel and instead a Bed and Breakfast type of place. Owners of the place were down to earth. Husband and wife were running the place and I can imaging the amount of work to upkeep!

We took two room at the top floor. A bit of a walk up for grandparents but it was ok for us and the kids. Lovely wooden flooring. Inside it's all made of wood. Love the sun window which allows some view and can be opened. Sleep "under the stars" with that window. 

Our room had a separate toilet and shower. Unfortunately for grandparents their room , the toilet bowl room didn't even have a door. Warning, the showers are modern and beautiful but with clear glass. Means you should not room with just a friend! 

Breakfast was the same during our stay, which was 5 days 4 nights. Would have been great to change a bit of variety ESP for the long staying guests. Though I quite appreciated the pancakes! Awesome to have pancakes finally after weeks in France. The kids loved it and so did I. 

Generous amount of bread, jam, coffee and yogurt. Pancakes were good ask for more! 

We also tried some of their dinner food. Worthwhile to order so you can enjoy Mountain views while dining. Esp loved the view when we had breakfast and lunch outdoors.

The number one thing to do: go to their plant garden it is behind the house and I loved the view there it was breathtaking!! Don't miss it. Go check out their plants and produce backyard. Spend your 5-6pm sunset there , we brought our own chairs to squat there for an hour it was the most beautiful view! 

Would have been great if they had a common toilet at ground floor for guests bec the grandparents and young kids had to walk upstairs just to pee. And that's a lot of flights of stairs.

Overall highly recommended. I would have loved the other room they had, which was for a big family. We got to see it on the last day before leaving. 

Make sure to bring your own bar of soap and shampoo! This type of place gave small amount of liquid soap which wasn't sufficient for us ...

The owners were flexible if u need anything just request or ask. We placed some milk in their fridge bec my kids wanted milk at night so that was nice of them to accommodate. We were there on the week of Tour De France! Lovely town nearby Umbrun must go have a look, buy bread or eat at the cafes there. 

Spectacular places to visit around was the kite area which had a cafe with lavender around. The view of the water with mountains around was breathtaking! 

Memorable visit. 4 nights was perfect for a relaxing and unwinding family stay. Our once a year visit to France for summer was made special bec of this. 

Mountainside Holiday made special, unexpected bliss

My husband and I stayed here one night while we were driving through the Alps. The owners are lovely and accommodating, and the house is beautiful. They clearly put a lot of effort into the details and the room was really charming. We had large skylights that looked out onto the mountain, and the shower was brilliant. The bed was very comfortable.
There is a nice terrace outside as well with comfortable places to sit. The breakfast was delicious, fresh yogurt, bread and jam, and apricot tarts. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a stop in the Alps. (There is parking if you are driving). Only real downside is there are no restaurants local to the house, but if you drive there are options. 

Lovely B&B in the Alps 

Truly wonderful guesthouse. Peaceful location, lovely hosts, fantastic food ( even with great vegetarian options) and fine wine and beer lists. Well appointed rooms with much class. Highly recommended.
