We were welcomed most warmly by Madame Bach but it all went downhill from there.Just glance up at the canopy over the front door and see the dirt and lack of maintenance.Our room was tiny - beds so small that even I at 5ft 8" hung over the end. The bathroom ceiling is so low and the mirror so small the you bash your head on the ceiling that is finished in diamond sand paper. The doors to the loo and the bathroom creak amazingly loudly! The carpets are threadbare throughout. The dining room is extraordinarily brightly lit - killing all ambience. Our candles were not lit, our white wine was not put in an ice bucket - but saying that the food was jolly good. Overall not at all what one normally gets in a Logis de France.

A disappointment

We arrived very, very late but a special action was taken to hand over the keys of our rooms. Very quiet, good beds but a bit short as more often in France. The hotel is somewhat famous for the kitchen, we did only a breakfast which was good but not special.

Nice hotel at the french countryside near Dijon

A good stopover point on my way to the South I thought. Depends what you expect: Chaussin is a very quiet and sleepy place as is the hotel. Hotel rooms are what you can expect from Logis de France: flimsy doors and cardboard walls. A double bed that took up most of the space in the bedroom (so you find yourself walking around the bed trying not to fall on it). But that's about as negative as I can get. The lady of the house was friendly - maybe the fact that I arrived on a motorbike ? - and the rooms were very clean and I had a really good bathroom. I had a very decent meal. The chef clearly has aspirations of a higher nature and although one can discuss taste combinations, I liked it a lot. Price wise the combination hotel-restaurant was a bit on the expensive side. Maybe the room price (normally €95 but via internet €75) should have been more in the €60 area.

it's Logis de France, not the Ritz

We booked a night's accommodation en route back to Calais from the south of France on the strength of the hotel's reputation for food..  Rooms were a little cramped and outdated (think 1970s) and ventilation was limited.  We booked dinner which was good but not great.  Wine list extensive but expensive (at least what you pay in the UK at  a similar restaurant) but the Givry which we chose was excellent.  HOWEVER, when querying the bill in the morning Mme Bach was extremely rude and unprofessional.  On this basis we would not recommend Chez Bach:(

Rude and unprofessional hostess

I stayed at the 'Chez Bach' on the way back to the UK from a skiing holiday in Switzerland - it's only a few kilometres off the motorway route. I booked it on the basis that it's a high-rated Logis de France and looked as if it was in a relatively quiet area, which it was. 
First impression wasn't too great as it's a rather anonymous looking hotel surrounded by modern housing and near a small industrial estate, but it looked clean and the staff were very welcoming. The room was fine, nice and clean with a big bathroom - everything you'd expect from a two-star place. The village of Chaussin made for a pleasant wander round and there's a supermarket for those French goodies.
What really made it a special stay was the restaurant at the Chez Bach. I've had some good meals in France in my time, but this was spectacularly excellent. I ordered the €43 menu and my partner and son ate a la carte, and all of us were thoroughly impressed. I was presented with 8 courses, and every time I had something which the others didn't the waiter brought something extra for them. Each course was beautifully presented and inventively cooked, from the fois gras in the local vin jaune to the delicious selection of petits fours. Although there were eight courses, most were pretty small so I didn't feel over-full at the end. 
Because of the food (and the strength of the pound) it wasn't a particularly cheap stay, but it was well worth it - when you get something as good as that, you don't mind paying for it! I thoroughly recommend the hotel for an overnight stay, or if you have to be near Dole or Dijon for another reason. 
The only things were fell slightly below the otherwise high standard were the local wines, which we weren't impressed with (although the aperitifs were good), and the dessert, which was over-sweet and seemed to have some kind of artificial cream with it - a pity.  
The hotel/restaurant has been in the same family since the 1930s and they're very much hands-on; they looked after us extremely well.
