We loved our stay at Clos St Etienne. Our room was stylish and spacious with a separate entrance. We appreciated the tea/coffee making facilities. And we loved being able to sit and relax in the quiet garden. Francis is a terrific host - friendly and helpful. And his breakfasts - as others have rightly said - are a highlight of the day. One of our daily specials was home made madeleines. Can't get better than that!
We were walking the GR3 but our fellow guests were enjoying the Chinon Classic car race. This B and B offers something for everyone. Highly recommended.

A beautiful haven

My wife and I stayed at this lovely B and B in May 2019. Lovely room and wonderful host. Francis made us a lovely breakfast each morning and each day he added something different. One day it would be home made rice pudding, the next might be home made cake. The B and B was in a quite part of the town but only a short walk to the centre or to the castle. He also offered off street parking for our Harley.
Wonderful. We would not hesitate to stay again!

Fantastic B and B

This was the second time we have visited and we hope it won't be the last! We love Chinon and this B&B is an ideal base to discover the town and surrounding area.The room is large and elegant and has its own entrance and little terrace in the delightful garden. Francis' hospitality is only surpassed by his breakfasts, which are a delight. It's the little touches like ensuring we had a parking space, remembering us from last time and giving us the same room, and booking a restaurant for our special anniversary that make the difference. Francis even gave us a bottle of champagne to celebrate. This is one of the best B&Bs we have been to, thank you Francis.

One of the best B&Bs we have ever stayed in.

We stayed in this wonderful B and B, and it was a simply marvelous experience!  Francis and Catherine welcomed us so warmly with a cold drink when we rode here on our bikes.  The next morning, Francis greeted us with a superb breakfast that included fresh fruit, croissants, breads, and homemade yogurt, jams, and an almond sweet.  The location is in the heart of the city of Chinon, yet here in the garden of their home, it is quiet and serene.  We would highly recommend that you stay here on your next visit to Chinon!

Fantastic place to stay while you are visiting Chinon!

This B&B is all about the host, Francis, who goes out of his way to make you welcome. His breakfasts are mostly home made and vary each day, they are lovely. The location is a bit tricky to find and parking is awkward. But rest assured Francis will do everything he can to ensure that you have a space right outside the gate. The accommodation is quaint, clean and comfortable. You enter through a side gate opposite the church. This leads to two rooms. Ours was an old nuns accommodation. You had to enter by a small step which some may find difficult. The beds were comfortable, and it was very quiet. The shower is large with a couple of steps leading up to it. It is ideally situated for you to explore Chinon by foot, or the wider area by car. There are some lovely Chateau's in the vicinity.

There is no TV but he does provide tea and coffee and he will supply milk if you ask.
