I went to see the castle of Chambord with my grand-children on our way to south of France; the "ferme des trois maillets" is a very convenient location, close to the road but  not too noisy , and at short distance from the highway and Chambord
The restaurant is very nice and affordable, kids and pets are welcome

if you go to the Loire

I have my dinner in la ferme des 3 maillets  restaurant, very good ambience, historical atmosphere, food is very good , deserts also is very good, staff is helpful , it was a great business dinner with friends in strange atmosphere

We came here on a recce for lunch after we had walked out of a very disappointing hotel.
Not a lot of English was spoken but the lunch was really good so we decided to stay for a couple of nights.  We had a nice room with chairs at the door so we could sit out with a drink in the evening.  As the weather was quite warm, we ate each night in the courtyard and the menus were varied and the end result was extremely good.  Not cheap but good food in France is not. A rustic farm hotel who looked after us very well despite the odd language difficulty.

Relaxing on a farm

Along the big road, this old farm converted in a semi-hotel Chambre d'hotes is definitely a worthwhile, budget friendly stop! The host is very welcoming, and will do everything to make the stay perfect. The rooms are very basic but comfi. Yes, for Eur 120 do not expect silk linen or top end soaps. The breakfast is also more than decent. We stayed for food which is a must. Considering it is the only restaurant within a 5 miles radius it is an easy choice, but more than worthwhile. 

Simple but good!

Came here for a birthday dinner. Food was excellent.  Menu was varied.  Presentation well done.  Outdoor seating was comfortable and relaxing.  Service on the other hand was slow and unfriendly even though I spoke French.

Went for a celebratory birthday dinner midweek.

In a strange turn of events, we ended up booking into this hotel whilst travelling through the Loire. As we arrived something felt strangely familiar. It was in-fact the restaurant we had visited and certainly not enjoyed a few years previously. Although this time we’d be staying the night!

The room was dreadful. Spiders in the corners (although I suppose it is a farm), very basic interior and a hospital style wet room for a bathroom. Very unstylish. 

At the end of the day it’s a cheap roof over your head in the middle of nowhere. So one can’t be too fussy. Polite and welcoming staff cost nothing though. 

I’d love to say the restaurant had upped its game but unfortunately not. 

 Uninspiring 

The owner changed the price of the room themself with any information at the client.
Everybody is very unfriendly.
Very noisy hotel.
Price of a sandwish = 16 € !
The hotel was almost empty.
 I do not recommend this hotel.

Horrible - Never go there !!!

When we arrived at the hotel, we got assigned a room with a view on the Nuclear Power Plant (picture). It was a warm day but opening the windows was not an option since directly under our window was a very busy and noisy road. At the reception desk we asked for another room which was impossible.
Due to that we asked to change our booking from 3 to 2 nights. The lady at the reception desk checked with the manager who indicated that this was not possible because we booked with Booking.com. 
We decided to connect with Booking.com who indicated that if the hotel manager agrees, there would be no problem to change the 3 nights to 2 nights. With this information, we went back to the hotel management. They now indicated that they are not willing to change the hotel booking since they had to decline other guests because of our booking for 3 nights. This clearly was not true since we checked on Internet that the hotel still had availability. Now the hotel management offered us another room for night 2 and 3. Since we did not appreciate their behaviour 
(lying about the fact that booking.com was the problem, lying about the fact they had to decline other guests) we decided to not accept their offer, leave after 2 nights though we ended up paying for 3. All in all a very unprofessional and unfriendly attitude that was even worse than the actual location and view of the room and the fact that the Wifi connection was not functioning.
