We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of our tour around France. It  is an unusual place, very interesting inside, our room was large with a separate lounge area plus rocking horse! Breakfast is very uninteresting and the same every morning. Very small chopped up pieces of tinned pineapple on a very small dish, yoghurt with apple compote and heaps of brown sugar on the top. 4 slices of bread and a croissant. The pineapple dish went up a notch on our last day with less pineapple replaced with half a walnut! We were contacted prior to our visit by someone saying Sebastian (the french owner) had asked them to see if we would accept a different room. This resulted in a direct (not through Booking.com - who charge 15% to the owner) Disappointingly, this was not reflected in what were asked to pay plus we had to pay in cash!!!
The location is fabulous being right next to the river but it is a real shame that the bedrooms have no view. The town is a little uninteresting and with just the one restaurant - very friendly and specialising in couscous with delicious toppings.

Quirky but could be better

We spent 3 lovely nights in Host Sebastian's home. It is full of wonderful collections he has brought back from his many travels. There is so much to see. We were on our rattly old motorbike and we were able to lock it away in the garage over nights which was great. He put us up at the top of the house with 2 rooms to spread out in. Lovely comfy bed, spotlessly clean. Sebastian cooked for us the first night along with another couple. It was top restaurant fare, and despite our school french and the other couples school English it was a delightful evening due to our host. The area has much to see, and he was so helpful in helping with planning the days. Even going out of his way to offer to take us in his car as it rained one day! Breakfast if lovely fresh breads yogurts and fruits from Sebastian's garden. If you are visiting this area don't miss a stay here. He is doing up a flat and gite in this small street so go on the site. You won't be disapointed.

Superb Host and a wonderful original place to stay 1/2 minute from the Loire River by foot.

Stay for a one night, which was memorable for the unique décor, friendly and very genuinely helpful owner!
It was a delightful house in a lovely location. Our room was spacious and very comfortable with quirky décor. Breakfast was delicious.
Would certainly stay again if in the area.

This is not a hotel, this is like a friend's home !! Sebastien does everything to make your stay comfortable, breakfast in the fabulous kitchen makes us feel like to be in a private invitation !!

If you want to visit the Loire valley, for sure, this is the place ! Do not miss !!!

Excellent !!!!

Sebastien, the owner of this small hotel and his partner are two genuinely nice guys, the hotel which is situated on the banks of the Loire river is spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. On our arrival we were warmly welcomed and shown to our superb room. An evening meal was offered but we'd eaten earlier in the day and only required a snack so we went out to explore and picked up something then. 

The house is deceptively large inside, with lots of interesting artefacts strewn about the place, all of them carefully chosen and of exquisite taste.There are just two guest rooms here which would suggest a chambre d'hotes but it is actually much more than that, in fact it's more of an experience than just a night in a normal hotel. 

Our room was superb, with excellent shower and toilet facilites - as already mentioned absolutely spotlessly clean. The large double bed was very comfortable and the area is nice and quiet so no disturbed sleep. 

The situation of the hotel on the sleepy banks of the Loire is idylic, lovely for an evening stroll and if you're lucky you may, as we did, find the little bar just up the river path from the hotel open where you can sit and enjoy a beer or two in beautiful surroundings. 

Sebastien has a little garage where for a few extra euros you can park your car, the area looks quite safe but we'd booked it so used it as a matter courtesy.  Breakfast is included in the price and has lots of good things on offer and very nice coffee, the tarrif  for a night's stay represents excellent value. The only minor niggle is that check in time is 5pm which is a little late for a hotel and more in keeping with a chambre d'hotes 

The village of Chouze sur Loire is very quiet and there's not a lot to do here but that suited us just fine. Saumur is just a few miles up the road though so if you fancy eating out and a few livlier bars then it's not far to go to get that.  Full marks to this little hotel, as apart from the late check in time I genuinely cannot fault it in any way, this is a perfect example of the way all small hotels and guest houses should be run. Thanks to Sebastien for making our short stay so pleasant, our only disappointment was not booking for longer
