This is an amazing place, if you want to stay in Cilaos,  you should definitely stay here. Thierry is a great host, was very friendly and welcoming from the first second. We were hiking for two days already when we arrived here and still had two more (heavy) days coming up. One of the first things he offered was to wash our clothes. The best offer you could give us at that moment. He wants to help you with everything. 

You should already go there just because of Thierry. But the room was also very good, clean, nice beds. Everything you need. After hiking this place felt like a 5 star hotel for us.

We would highly recommend this guest room to anyone who is looking for a charming, authentic and simple room in Cilaos.

The breakfast is excellent and made of fresh and local ingredients. The Bois Rouge is also very well located in the village, 5mn walk from the downtown and all facilities. There is a free parking available.

Authentic and charming guest house

Highly recommended for the location, for the quality of the room. Very neat. We woke up at 5:00 to admire the mountains and the rising sun. Wifi ok. Parking OK. Very professionnal Thierry who welcomes each of this client in a detailled and personnal way.

Top marks for Thierry the host of the bed and breakfast hotel. Most welcoming and friendly, what better introduction the Cilaos. His big breakfasts set us up for the day with home made elements such as banana cake and yogurt, served to us individually. We had so much kept some for a picnic lunch which he kindly packed and added some surprise extra cake! A lovely quaint hotel with a superb view if you have a family room overlooking the town. Always easy to locate next to the church!

Charming bed & breakfast

Great little hotel at the end of the village, the owner is very welcoming and good advice, the breakfast is delicious (homemade cake) and plentiful especially if you head out into the mountains afterwards.

When my wife, my one year old and I arrived tired from the days hiking experience, we were received in the most welcoming personally caring way. The great and clean room was not only individually equipped, a baby bed, a baby bath and toys were already prepared, completed with a List of places that provide take away food (as our low motivation to go out tired and hungry with an even more tired toddler was anticipated). In the morning the breakfast was prepared with the same personal care, together with hiking recommendations that suit our capabilities. All in all a most delightful  over night stay.

Individual design meets private ownership

Wonderful from start to finish for the 3 nights we stayed. Thierry was so friendly and his English was very good. Breakfasts were huge and included in the room rate - much of it made by Thierry or Marie. Views from the veranda were amazing and fantastic place to base yourself to see places and do some of the many walks to do in Cilaos. Free wifi and good internet speed. Wonderful he provided drinks in the afternoon - we had amazing black tea, coffee and importantly REAL hot chocolate. Just beware the twisty road (420+ bends) with buses, lorries and cars that drive in the middle of the road! Recommend that you stay here!
