Charming hosts for whom nothing was too much trouble, opening up the garden room whem we found the stairs difficult. Lovely little pool, Excellent breakfast. Convenient parking. Total tranquility AND so close to city centre.Very highly re!commended

Hidden Gem

Wow, what a surprise!  From the outside you have no idea what is about to be revealed once you enter.  This is a garden paradise in the city - well a 10 minute walk from the centre to be exact - but what a remarkable way of enjoying a visit to Cognac.  We stayed in Le Clos - which is a private building surrounded by the garden. It has its own terrace and everything you need.  The only downside is that the bed is a standard 4'6" rather than 5 foot or 6 foot (1.5 or 1.8m).  If you want a larger bed then its probably better to stay in the main house.  The hosts, Dominique and Bernard, are delightful and very helpful.  The added bonus is the heated indoor swimming pool and of course secure parking within the garden area.  We would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Cognac.  Thank you again to Dominique and Bernard for your wonderful hospitality.

Exactly what is says on the tin!

We stayed here for 1 night on the way from spain to normandy. It was fantastic. Walled garden, owner let us park our bikes securely in the garden. Seperate annexe was great and we had breakfast on the terrace which included jam made from fruits from the garden. Only a 10 minute walk to the river and the brandy houses/musuems. Fantastic place really good value 1 night wasnt long enough.

Bike trip through france

Stayed here for a few nights with my family. Really lovely place that, although it is close to a fairly busy street, feels isolated from the city. 

The room with a garden view is separate to the main house with a great terrace to have a couple of glasses of wine outside (perfect if warm enough). 

We also stayed in the room with a private bathroom which was slightly more spacious and a massive double bed. It had a bath but if you only want showers it would be best to find another room. 

Great to have a pool and somewhere to relax. As other reviews have said, the breakfast is just what you want (continental with bacon and eggs if you want them) and Dominique and Bernard were incredibly welcoming and friendly. 

Well worth a stay

Lovely

It was our absolute delight and pleasure to stay at this fantastic bed and breakfast for 5 nights over the Easter period this year. Located only a 10 minute walk from central Cognac, this accommodation contributed to a memorable stay. Absolutely wonderful hosts who made us feel so welcome. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast each morning overlooking a beautiful garden. Cognac itself does warrant more than a one night stay. There is the old part of town to explore, a great market, fantastic restaurants, walking tracks along the river, many Cognac distilleries to tour and short drives to several historic villages nearby. Really fell in love with this part of France, largely due to our hosts being such great ambassadors for this region and France in general. Would love to return here some day.

We booked Le Clos room which is stunning. Set in beautiful gardens with a private terrace the room is spacious, lovely decor and good shower. Hosts were very helpful and breakfast lovely. Wonderful stay.
