Beautiful large room, quiet and pleasant. Room (sesame) was large, jacuzzi, shower, sofa, mini bar. Very well appointed. Check in super smooth friendly, although mostly pure French language. Breakfast included and convenient parking on grounds. Restaurant is very good as well.

Great stay, big rooms

First visit on way to Spain,good room and bathroom, food good but wife’s veggie option not good enough for this quality restaurant, will return. Sandra is a star ,she will sort everything you need in several languages 


Stop over 

Excellent quality, friendly staff, not a budget meal but go for a fine dining experience which is good value.. we paid 85 euro for two .. 3 course menu plus wine , very much worth it. We stayed further along the canal
so rode our bikes there and back- lovely experience.

Restaurant Only Review

We only ate at the restaurant so cannot comment on the Hotel. The service was superb the standards were Michelin quality with lots of serving staff and all knowledgable. The Rib of Beef was incredible cooked to perfection. Good choice of wine where many restaurants in the area only serve local wine. If you can get a reservation I thoroughly recommend it.

Came here for a v chilled lunch with friends. Enjoyed an aperitif in the shade (welcome after an hours walk pre lunch in the heat along the canal). Lovely table in a shaded outdoor area. Foie gras starters, some delicious turbot, selle d agneau (lamb). Then followed by their speciality of grand marnier soufflé....but in my view an even nicer raspberry tiramisu. All washed down by chilled fitou wine. Service was great. Friendly and professional. We've been meaning to come here for a while- should've come earlier! Will definitely come back. 

Upmarket yet friendly - by the canal

Enjoyed a delightful meal at Au Lavoir on a sunny evening in June. The location is great, beside the Canal du Midi, and with a shady outside dining area.

The service was nicely attentive and friendly and the food delicious, especially considering it was only €30 each. 

Foie gras and Spanish ham with an avocado/gazpacho mousse, followed by steak (with exceptional chips) and cod with chorizo, followed by raspberry tiramisu. All beautifully prepared and presented.

All in all a lovely meal in a great setting, with terrific staff.

Great Food - Exceptional Value

We stayed at this hotel and were in the room above the restaurant on the first floor. We had a jacuzzi, which was surprisingly clean (unusual from my experience of jacuzzis in hotel rooms). The room was huge and was exceedingly well appointed. There was cable internet, allowing me to connect my laptop and share it on wifi, but it would be better to have wifi, but a tiny point. 

We had an evening meal which was just delightful. The meat and fish were cooked to perfection with great tastes which set off your tastebuds for a long time after you finish, something I always appreciate. Slightly expensive to be honest, but a great experience so it was ok.

The bed was huge, and terribly comfortable. Everything was spotless and perfect.

In the morning breakfast was ample. A typical basic continental to head off for our drive to southern Spain.

Many thanks to our hosts who spoke good English and was very attentive at all times.
