This place is so close to the beach, you can smell the sea on the evening air!
This is a delightful place to stay. The beds are very comfortable (I am 2.0mtr tall) and the room we stayed in was terrific. Our room was recently renovated and the ensuite bathroom/toilet was wonderful. There is further renovation happening here and it is all going to be for the better.
Our breakfast in the mornings was so typically french! Croissants, coffee/thé, crêpes , confitures, yaourt and bread - yum!
Our hosts, Camille and Tristan, were wonderful. Their knowledge of the city and recommendations for dinner were sensational. Both spoke English with us and were so enthusiastic. We would highly recommend Villa des Sables to anyone.

Charming, friendly and close to the sea.

This is a charming house right by the beach. The decor is very modern and slightly quirky.  I would say that in places the comfort and convenience of the guests has been sacrificed for the artistic effect. The ensuite shower and basin are actually in the bedroom and there was no door on the shower meaning that one had to be really careful not to soak everything. There was no full length mirror and the lighting was poor.  However, the bed was really large and comfortable. The breakfasts were really good, each day Madame made something different such as pancakes or Breton cake and there was always ham and cheese available. She and her husband were very friendly.  Overall I would say that this is a nice place to stay but not worth the cost.

A great location and lovely breakfasts

This is a really lovely house adjacent to a little beach and 10-15 mins walk from the town centre/the old town. It is evident that the owners take pride in their property. We stayed in their beautifully-appointed, spotless 2 bedroom suite on the first floor.  There is a terrace overlooking the beach which is perfect for sipping an aperitif while watching the sunset and a courtyard area with relaxed seating areas, as well as a jacuzzi. The breakfasts were great every morning and our hostess could not have been more friendly or more helpful, even making suggestions and reservations for dinner! The region is gorgeous and we loved returning here each evening after exploring.

Luxurious home from home with excellent hostess.

We only stayed for one night but would highly recommend it if you are looking for a quiet and welcoming stop on the coast. The host was extremely welcoming, room was exactly as described and comfortable. Breakfast was a feast and probably the best we’ve had on our tour through Brittany. Hope to visit again very soon.

Magnifique

For 130 euros in low season we were expecting perfection - the experience was far from it. The room was described as the best in the house with a sea view. The sea was actually around the corner; the room was awfully cold and not cosy. The bed was uncomfortable. The open style shower flooded water everywhere. The "spa" consisted of an outside jacuzzi at lukewarm temperature - not a pleasant experience in November. When we asked if it was possible to turn up the heating, we we were told, rather sternly, that the heating was already on and not to touch the radiators. We also received a comment on the mess we had created in the room - we found this inappropriate. All in all, a disappointing experience.

Disappointing & very overpriced

We spent a week here in Brittany to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary and from start to finish it was amazing. The room was fresh, clean and with a brilliant sea-view. Madame was incredibly welcoming. The breakfast room was always ready in the mornings and the rooms were freshened regularly. Whatever you needed Madame would sort - she chilled our champagne for us. My advice is speak some French don't be rude. Try! You can't check in until 5pm on the first day so sort out somewhere to go. The local beaches are fabulous and Concarneau is a brilliant town to visit. We loved our cider sessions everyday. We had lunch out everyday and then in the evenings we sat on the terrace and ate baguettes and pate. The Jacuzzi was brilliant and this was an incredibly well-designed hotel. Stay here - you will love it.

We didn't stay here as the landlady was extremely rude and unwelcoming.  We simply commented that 5pm was a late time for check-in and she took exception to that and told us she wasn't a hotel but a chambers d'hôtes and that it was her house and if we didn't like it we could leave.   So we did!  We have stayed at many hotels, chambers d'notes, apartments etc and have never received such treatment. We also noted that the "spa" consists of a hot tub in an unheated outside building.   The whole place was recently renovated but, like the owner was devoid of charm.
