We booked 3 rooms at the Hotel Arena le Refuge in Corte. As the location is out of town it was essential for us to have a restaurant. Before we traveled we were told that we were all ‘upgraded’ to the sister hotel, Les Jardins de la Glacière nearby. When we arrived we had a hostile reception which got worse when we asked where we could eat. The room had a toilet that wouldn’t flush and a shower knob that came off in your hand. This hotel had no restaurant and the restaurant in Le Refuge was closed. We asked if we could get a taxi the 2km into Corte and were told that no taxi would go such a short distance. We enquired about a take away but were firmly told that we would have to eat it in the room. We then asked about the restaurant close by in another hotel. This was clearly the competition so wasn’t mentioned to us. We asked if they could be called to see if they were open and this was done very grudgingly. At check out we mentioned the problems in the room which was greeted with a very sarcastic, disbelieving ‘Oh really’. This appalling establishment seems to be run by only 2 people who we believe are the owners of both these hotels. Clearly, neither of them has had any hospitality training. Having travelled all over the world we have never met such rude, condescending and sarcastic staff in an hotel or stayed in such a terrible place. If this was an upgrade from the Hotel Arena le Refuge we hate to think what that must be like. We strongly recommend that you DO NOT BOOK AT THESE HOTELS.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL OR IT'S SISTER HOTEL LES JARDINS DE LA GLACIERE

We stayed 3 nights to walk up the the Restonica Valley & other gorges. It’s a great location. The room was perfectly fine, but the bed was not comfortable for us unfortunately. Breakfast was very good with an excellent choice of produce. Our cooked choices were hot enough for us. However, I’m afraid dinner was not great. It depends what you order of course, but we were  very disappointed with our food. 

Clean & Welcoming

Here with a group of 14 for 3 days. The rooms are nice as are the facilities, the Restaurant with which we had a food plan was very dissapointing.  Breakfast was ok though bacon and eggs are served stone cold but two of the three dinners hag fish as the main course and both meals were inedible. Not just for my self but for everyone in the group. Big disappointment 

Nice hotel but the food is disappointing.

We landed in heaven. Stopped by mistake. Ended up eating the best Burger Rossini in the world.
You sit by a wonderful river The Restonica. The sound of the water flowing down. Great atmosphere. Wonderful waiters. Bref. A place to visit 

Best burger ever 

We called in here for lunch, the weather was sweltering and we were all togged up in motorcycle gear, so sitting in the shade next to a cool and babbling mountain stream was a great way to enjoy lunch, which was very nice and moderately priced - although extremely busy, we received a warm welcome and good service - the hotel accommodation looked very nice indeed and we intend to stay at 'Le Refuge' next time we visit Corsica - recommended !

Super hotel and restaurant - lovely location !

This is a family hotel; people are friendly. The room has airco and is rather big and has a refrigerator to. Very pleasant is the small balcony with two chairs. So you can sit outside even if it is raining (we had a few hours). 
The setting of the restaurant is very unique: nearby the river. Hotel guests can sit nearby the river to read a book or so. Very attractive.
The food in the restaurant was good but not very fine. It looks well, but tastes could be better.
We did not have breakfast because we wanted to start early in the morning for a few walks.


Family Hotel

We enjoyed four nights in our clean, spacious accommodation. The breakfasts were plentiful and tasty. The evening meals in the on-site restaurant were generous, carefully- presented portions. Veronique, the hands-on manager, and her courteous team were always accessible and amenable. The hotel has a stunning location in the Restonica Valley by the river.

If you like to wait for not tasting food ! Pay a lot for what you get and wait an hour because they forget your order!!! Let s go for it

Incompetent staff but a bit friendliness more than jardin de la glaciere! Same owner perhaps it explains all!!!

No idea about the hotel, restaurant was terrible 

Beautiful location compared to nature but compared to town you'll need a car because no taxis are available. Breakfast was ok for France. Clean hotel. The aircon was a monstrous noisy thing with vent through an open window (could not be closed during absence or at night !) The remote to the television not working. Absolutely no luxury in room or at the hotel.

Nice if you go for nature

We spent a night here while touring the island. Great spot with direct access to the river to cool off. Friendly staff and good food on offer. Breakfast was somewhat limited for the 12€ pp they were charging.
