booked a trip for December 2021, could not go b/c of COVID, was issued a voucher. Tried to book using this voucher for 2022-2023 season - but hotel is now "definitely closed". Phone is switched to a different business, emails bounce. Any advice what to do?

Voucher 

We had stayed in 2016 and we found the stay to be enjoyable. Well we went to book again in 2020 for end of March and paid a 40% deposit. They said they would respond to either refund the money or put it to another stay. Its been 6 months we have not heard anything back. Email which we were communicating on now are bouncing back. If anyone knows what else I can do to get my funds or is someone else is facing the same problem please email salman@ebrahim.com to see how we can resolve this. Is there some authorities
 we can ask. The deposit amount is not small.

NO RESPONSE - EMAIL DOESN'T EVEN WORK!!

This hotel took 50% deposits off a large group of us for a holiday in late March.  After it had to be cancelled due to Covid, they refused to communicate for an entire month  and then wrote to tell us that we would have to wait 18 months for vouchers for a new stay - and in the same email, that they are winding down and calling in accountants, which would make the vouchers worthless.  They have failed to reply to any further emails from any of us  I cannot think of any hotel which has behaved like this as a result of Covid, however badly hit they have been.  If it does re-open, avoid at all costs.

Appalling treatment of customers

If you want to have a spoiled trip the hotel is the best place you can choose. 
First of all the hotel condition isn't even close to a 4 star rating. Furniture in rooms is scratched and old. The inner door to toilet couldn't be closed in our room and so on. But that would be ok and would be compensated by hotel location. Restaurant staff complete inadequate. Besides several individuals being very helpful all the rest are newbies and it took us an hour to just make an order. They mixed the orders, forgot food, brought it cold and when you complain about the service it is put as if you insult the staff. If you have kids that play around or talk louder then 60dB you SHOULD NOT go here. Kids according to owner's opinion should sit quietly and like adults discuss something very quietly. And the last but not least. If by any chance something happens in the hotel but hotel owner cannot identify who is to blame you have a huge chance to be within a group of suspects. You will get a letter saying that you are guilty and the hotel would be pleased that you leave it asap. No proof just a letter saying that you are inadequate as well as 80 other guests just because 4 people out of eighty did something wrong. All these crazy decisions come directly from hotel owner an aged guy which made a good impression at first but then showed his real face. I believe he not only behave inadequate but also I am sure is regularly breaking laws but hotel visitor don't want to deal with him since are staying there for a short time. If I lived in France and had little more free time I am sure I would make the guy pay for his rude, unfair and potentially illegal behaviour.

Last chance not to spoil your vacation

I was taken here with a group. I ordered from the english menu expecting to receive a goats cheese salad. The menu has been poorly translated from French and the Goats cheese salad at €17.50 is actually charged for a “tartine” a piece of baguette with over grilled goats cheese that comes with what appeared to be a garnish of salad. Not wishing to eat bread i asked if i could have a goats cheese salad without bread and was turned down. Instead of asking me what else I would like an argument ensued whereby an aggressive manager informed me that I have to pay for the overpriced cheese on toast that I declined to eat otherwise the poor waiter would be forced to pay for it from his wages.
A nasty aggressive unpleasant experience and not at all what you might expect from a supposed international hotel.
Avoid this place unless you enjoy being overcharged for crap food.
