Les Valades

This is one of the very best campsites we have ever stayed at. It’s a huge site resembling a country park which slopes down from the modern reception and restaurant to a lake beside which are indoor and outdoor swimming pools. The outer parts of the site are wooded providing shade in the summer and the central area is a vast grassed area with more scattered trees. There are a wide variety of different accommodations from simple terraced pitches to upmarket cabins. We stayed for five nights in a generous terraced hedged pitch for our Campervan with the luxury of our own small cabin with modern shower and wash hand basin and external sink. The whole site is kept impeccably and the owners and staff are extremely polite and helpful. There is plenty to amuse younger children and it’s also very peaceful if you want a relaxing break. It feels remote but all facilities including a large Carrefour are less than a 10 minute drive away and there are plenty of attractions in this part of the Dordogne. One point to note is that some of the pitch electrics are the French socket type so if you need to hook up bring your adaptor. Words can’t do this place justice. You need to stay here to believe it.
