Four nights and we wished it could have been much longer.
We couldn't have been more pleased. The accommodations were extraordinarily nice - spacious, comfortable with high-quality linens and attention to detail. 

Sophie and Jean Paul welcomed us and made us feel as if we were home. 

The breakfasts were served on a terrace overlooking the surrounding quiet valley and offered a terrific selection of bread, fruit, yogurt, coffee, tea, eggs, and the list goes on. All served on fine china and linens.

The grounds were also impeccably maintained with private entrances for each of the rooms that allowed for privacy but also direct access to the common areas with gardens and a swimming pool.

If you are a hiker, the location of this 300 year old Bastide offers a terrific starting point for hikes through the countryside, for the oenophile this is a central location to explore the surrounding vineyards, and it provides easy access to some of the most charming, nearby villages.

If you are in the Lot, this is a must-stay! We will definitely return when our travels take us to the region again.

Wonderful stay!

This was our second stay at Mas de Bastide. The first in 2014 was for three days and we decided that we wanted to spend more time in this wonderful Bed and Breakfast. This time we stayed for five days and each one was better than the day before.
The setting and the rooms are exquisite . Sophie and Jean -Paul are magnificent caring hosts. They are assisted by their greeter Achilles who is darling black schnauzer.
The breakfasts are a gourmand's dream with homemade croissants, brioche and jam in addition to fruit, yogurt , eggs...whatever your heart desires.
Crayssac is a tiny town in the heart of the Cahors wine growing area of the Lot. It is a part of the world that should not be missed. We feel the same way about Mas de Bastide and plan to return again and again.

A Slice of Heaven

Modern rather large sleeping and bath room in a refurbished 300 years old farm house. Garden, pool, absolutely quiet location. Breakfast sumptuous with local specialities. Friendly service. WiFi only in central living room, but very good there. No tv or Wifi in sleeping room. For dinner a restaurant in Castelfranco (“La Vigne Haut”) was recommended. It offered a superb cuisine at a very economic price (30 EUR for 4 courses). This merited the drive of 13km (which was rather easy though as we could essentially use one main road). The Village of Craissac is tiny and does not offer any services.

Sweet solitude

Do not miss out on this accommodation, quite simply it is the best. Situated at the top of a hill above a quiet village, a haven for peace and quiet but a great base to tour the areas many wonderful sites and beautiful scenery. The rooms are perfect, very well prepared and very clean and comfortable with a great breakfast to suit anybody`s tastes, eaten overlooking the valley below that would inspire anybody to eat. Sophie and Jean-Paul could not be more friendly and charming as hosts and you will fall in love with Achille the dog. The only mistake you will make is to realise you are not staying as long as you would like to.

The bset hotel in the Lot/Dordogne.

We stayed here for a couple of nights.  Would happily have stayed much longer.   There is something magical about entering through the massive gate to find a lovely courtyard with views right across the valley. Sophie is a warm an welcoming host.  The Bastide is beautifully renovated, retaining its character while providing extremely comfortable, elegant accommodation.  The pool area is really lovely and there are various sitting areas.
