Drive to Stella Maris from Eurotunnel Calais roughly an hour's drive. Shops within driving distance and supermarket. 
Very cosy relaxing place, although a school was also residing at the same time, it was very peaceful and quiet. Lovely pool. Beach at 5 mins drive. Very friendly and helpful staff.

dated rooms and poorly maintained , no hair dryers or tea/coffee making facilities in rooms, restaurant full so nowhere to get food other than 2km we were told away pool also shuts early evening so unable to use, staff unhelpful and dismissive

A good mid-range hotel if you aren't looking for anything fancy. The star is the breakfast which is plentiful and delicious buffet with a take-away lunch bag option too. Good location to a lovely beach and plenty of dining options nearby.

Very informal and relaxing as either a stopover or break.Clean and well organised with excellent breakfast, Pool was a big hit with the family, We arrived late but were dealt with by kindness and understanding

A place to relax after 9 hours driving

my daughter stayed here in july with her school. accomodation was ok but the food was terrrible. watery pasta, half cooked chicken no salad, ran out of of plates at one point. this is not good enough, and says something about the management and operation of this hotel. i would not advise to visit.

Visit with a school .Reception very pleasant. Room super basic but very clean. 2 /3smelt of les égouts / drains so strong asked to change was not a problem. Access to a side room for evening activities so good. Pleasant secure location. However, came the previous years and the food was amazing and varied. This year a great disappointment ( noddles, tined sausages and tined ratatouille, fish cakes, chips, brown food basic .just extremely poor apart from tomatoe salad for starter. )lunch students made sandwiches that was good, more healthy at lunch (ham cheese salad ) then evening. I was told they had been a change in kitchen due to retirement and so did the quality . They need to review their evening meals as it’s too poor.

1) When we first arrived we were welcomed and I spoke in French with staff.  I was directed to our rooms but not very well and it took me a few moments to find them.
2) The rooms were no better than adequate and had no heating, plus the shower was full of mould in room 78.  Only one pillow per person was provided and only one blanket was provided in the two rooms.  I had already informed them my father in law is in his last few weeks of his life with cancer, and he has to be kept warm.  I was told that the heating would not be switched on but a helpful staff member did help me with extra pillows and blankets.  She also told me "this is not a hotel" and recommended we stay at a local hotel.  I took this advice, at a cost of more than 300 Euros, as I could not allow my father in law to suffer another cold night.  The staff member also told me there would be no refund if we left.  I suggest this was unwise and could damage their reputation and I am surprised a staff member would agree that the facilities were poor.
3) The website advertises a number of facilities, including a bar and billiards.  The bar was not open at all that evening and the billiards and other things were not available.  I noted the billiards table had been pushed into a corner and the whole place looked like it was closed for winter.  If I pay for facilities, I expect them to be available.
4) The pool opens at 9am but breakfast finishes at 9:30am, making a morning swim impossible.  I deliberately booked this establishment as I wanted my father in law to be able to enjoy a morning swim in an indoor pool.  In any case, he was so cold overnight he could not have enjoyed a swim unless it was in a nice warm pool.

5) The breakfast was no better than just about adequate.  There were no hot items and the choice of cold items was very limited.  The "ham" and cheese were of very cheap quality.  Again the staff were very pleasant and helpful.
I paid 285,65 Euro for two nights for four people with breakfast to enjoy a stay with facilities in a nice environment.  This trip may have been my father in law's last one and I am surprised and disgusted at how poor the offering turned out to be.  I cannot book another trip now as he is approaching the end of his life and his health is failing.  I wrote to demand a partial refund but they did not reply.
DO NOT STAY THERE.

Accommodation was good for groups but seriously need to look at food.  
No choice given.
Teachers given different food, shocking shows food is crap.
One day served breaded fish with plain rice
Last day had chicken and lots of kids ended up ill.

Personally would be checking the reviews before allowing mine to go of future school trips.

Pool is not for school groups, only hotel guests. Do not get fooled by the pictures, make sure you confirm if can use.

School groups get different food and it is shocking

I was here for a few days with a school group the hostel was although very basic it was still nice the rooms were clean and well presented my room (15) was although basic but nice. The restaurant was canteen style and the food was alright as well parking was ample

The food we had at Stella Maris was practically inedible. I went with my school and after the 2 meals we had there we all felt sick and we were so happy when we got to leave. Some people didn’t even eat due to the horrendous smell that the food was letting off !!!!! This is what we were served 
Monday 
Starter: soggy pastry’s with a weird unknown substance inside
Main meal: canned hot dog sausages and tin toms with a side of rice 
Dessert: somewhat questionable donuts 

Tuesday
Starter: beetroot and salad leaves that got complained about because it smelt like feet and everyone felt so sick 
Main meal:some sort of cakey thing with fish flavouring and potato balls with black carrots 
Dessert: lumpy yogurts
