A delightful surprise.  It is a step back in time staying in this chateau with a modern twist and avant-garde art.  Superb, quiet location in the middle of the vineyards with access to a heated swimming pool and a large garden to relax. A fantastic, large room with top-of-the-class furnishings and speedy WIFI connections. We enjoyed the warm hospitality, a great breakfast and delightful wine-tasting.  It was so good relaxing here that we extended our stay. Oh yes, don’t forget to buy wines from the chateau – they have a very good selection of red and white Beaujolais.

An absolutely delightful stay.  Over shadowed by Burgundy, somewhat off the beaten track, this vineyard Chateau with 3 charming and fresh bedrooms with modern en-suite bathrooms is our first choice for an overnight stay when headed from North to South

All three bedrooms are tastefully renovated in comfortable style, and respecting the ancestry of the building.  A stay here immerses you in the ambiance of 150 years ago, with a tranquil calmness that refreshes.

Your hosts will give you recommendations for restaurants in adjacent villages which are frequented by locals and not tourists, dinning au terroir !

Discrete Charme of Beaujolais

When visiting Beaujolais, the Chateau de Buffavent is a great to stay.  We had a large, comfortable room at a reasonable price.  Owners Denis, Marie-Agnes, and Vincent were very welcoming and accommodating.  Be sure to taste the wines produced by the chateau.  The Beaujolais vieille vignes and Terres Dorées were especially good.

What A reception just fantastic the location is quiet and far from the freeway peace on earth.
The rooms were nicely decorated. The owners were always there to make sure you were comfortable. A continental breakfasts was serve at your convenience and was plentiful. Now we had dinner at the château to start we had wine testing so we could chose what we like for the meal and of course you were able to buy wine if you wish.
You will have a four course meal including two different wines included in the meal price.
We will go back that for sure.

The Best

Absolutely fantastic chateau, would highly recommend. From the moment my Daughter and I arrived to when we left, we felt like royalty. The room, views and breakfast was superb. We arrived rather late to have dinner, but Vincent recommended a restaurant in a village about 10 minutes away and it was wonderful and good value for money.
Only stayed at Chateau de Buffavent for one night, but made use of the pool before leaving. Felt so relaxed before motoring on down to Spain.

Whow

We absolutely adored this place.  It is friendly and genuine. If you want peace and quiet, while still having the vineyard and a pool, this is definitely the place to go.  Marie and her family were so lovely and me us feel so welcome. The room was gorgeous (the bathroom had a fantastic shower). The pool was a delight (heated, clean and with wine service to your lounger!) 
Marie treated us to a tour of the winery and a tasting (without any pressure to buy). We even got to taste direct from the barrel.  
Only downside is the need to drive to a restaurant (if you haven't booked far enough in advance to book dinner, which we will next time)
Definitely a must visit

Fantastic.... Friendly, peaceful, beautiful.... If you want an authentic vineyard, this is it!

We stayed 1 night in the Chateau de Buffavent : it was really a great stay .
We were extremely well received by Vincent who took care of us & gave us advices about the region & the restaurant in the area.
Our stay was short , but really plaisant , we had a large & comfortable room .
The continental breakfast was excellent .
