This is the first time we’ve stayed in an Auberge and we weren’t disappointed. Very French, clean and comfortable and the service was impeccable BUT the pièce de résistance was definitely the restaurant. The food served would not be out of place in a 5* restaurant. Magnifique!

French Auberge 5*

Perfect way to start our experience this time with the most perfect meal, delicious traditional French food with delicate flavours served with gentile courtesy and charm. Cannot fault this establishment, ticked all the right boxes, nothing was too much trouble and the food was superb; the red wine so rich and smooth it glided down with the good. Highly recommended.

Charming, atmospheric restaurant with superb food and service

We booked here for a weekend at the beginning of August. Our first trip to France since Covid-19. 
Stayed here before a few times. Friendly and clean. Lovely garden. 
We ate here the first night. Had an aperitif in the garden before dinner. Meal very good (as always). Really enjoyed my Skate. No a/c in rooms but roof is well insulated and had windows and skylight open. No problem. 
A nice area. Plenty of shops and restaurants locally, a very good market in St.Omer Saturday am.
Will return when we can!!

Another great stay.

We just had the one night here whilst visiting the Licques Turkey festival. The logis is a little dated, but in a nice rural French way. Very friendly staff, comfortable room and beds.
We ate at the restaurant.  An excellent meal. High standards indeed in their kitchen!
Breakfast ok. Croissant pastry bread jams and good coffee. 
They have a nice garden, but not in mid December!!
Recommended.

As our usual hotel in St.Omer was closed, we decided to revisit La Bonne Auberge after a few year's break. We were not disappointed as it proved to be an excellent decision. There was easy parking outside, then went up rather steep stairs to the bedroom. The attic type room was small but adequate and fine for the price.
Dinner was served in the lovely and very French dining room. Amuse bouche was followed by  starters of thinly sliced smoked duck with a piece of foie gras. Then came a beautifully cooked and served piece of skate with vegetables. We finished with a very tasty apple tart that was made to order. The whole meal was beautifully served by an attentive waitress and accompanied by wine from a well chosen wine list.
We slept well after our most enjoyable meal and will return again before too long.

Simple room and superb food.

We stayed one night in this logis rated auberge. The room was comfortable and clean, access to the bedrooms  however, would be a little tricky for those with mobility issues due to the steep and narrow stairs.
We booked a table on arrival for later that evening.  The restaurant was tastefully decorated and had a fair amount of patrons. The very competent and charming  waitress was in control of things, and ran things brilliantly.  
The food was fresh, hot and very tasty. Definitely a place to consider staying if you are in the calais environs. 

Very nice

Stayed here with friends to join a cycling event around Ardres. Good location for our purposes but the rooms where stuffy and I didn’t sleep well. Shower good but why can’t they supply decent towels not threadbare oddments?
Breakfast wasn’t good - fresh croissants but stale bread and just butter and jam also have coffee not tea!

Ok, if was cheap and handy - good for a few nights and a stopover but no more. 

Ok for a couple of nights

A few small improvements to room facilities would make a whole load of difference. I’d rather pay a few euros more and have decent towels, nice toiletries and a water glass. Otherwise this is a pleasant place to stop with tasty and well presented food. Reasonably priced wine list and friendly service. 

Cheap rooms. Good food

Good location if you're looking for a short overnight stay from Calais and a nice meal. Easy to get to from Calais only about 20 mins drive and onsite car parking. Basic accommodation but clean and comfortable. Some people may find the steep stairs up to the rooms difficult. We really enjoyed our 3 course meal selected from a 20euro menu with a French flavour which included snails as a starter. A nice little touch was the couple of free hor'dourves we were given, especially as we were there on a quiet November night with only three other diners. Negative comment - 8euros for a croissant, bread and a small pastry with jam and a cup of coffee was steep.

Good for an overnight stop

Adequate for a short overnight stay if you don't mind the dated decor & narrow stairs to your room.  Badly in need of updating though, bathroom was clean but emitted an odour ..perhaps not having a window or an extractor that we could say was working, a very funky smell in there!  However as it was only one night we didn't complain.  Towels and linens could do with an update too.. very thin, just about big enough and the bed linens were a clash-y, eclectic mix, while the mattress was a bit 'grannys old feather-bed'.
